We have a brand new Dodge Sprinter van. We've been using bio deisel since day one and have had excellent mileage.
Recently our mileage dropped--big time. We now get 200 km less per tank than before (so bout 120 miles)
On a whim on Saturday we filled with petro deisel to see if made a difference--our mileage was immediately back to normal (which was 900 km for 90 litres of deisel)
Has anyone noticed differences this extreme when using bio deisel??

I'll ask DH about it in the AM.

What grade biodiesel are you using, b20, b100? I think B20 shouldn't do that, but I've heard if you are doing the veg oil or B100 the engine must be started and stopped using regular old diesel requiring 2 tanks. I could be way off base, but it's a thought.

Do you like your sprinter? How is it in the snow & mud?

We're using B20, the place we get it only has B100 in the summer months. It's gotten significanly colder here, so we're wondering if they've switched the formula or something.
We love our sprinter, totally love it. Tons of power, drives much smaller than it is, very easy to back into parking spots, etc. We do need side windows put in, that will make it that much better. Mud and snow, we haven't had much snow yet, it seems fine in mud (we live on a dirt road) but I do feel some rear wheel slipping on wet roads. We're looking into buying ice tires for it for winter (we get a lot of freezing rain here) but it's looking like that will cost almost $500.00 a tire EEEK.
Aside from that, we really do love it. It is AWESOME getting dd into her carseat being able to STAND beside it. So far we've had as many as 13 dogs in the back and there was still room for a couple more.
