View Full Version : Do you know your Beta HCG numbers?

I was just curious how many of you know what your numbers were from your blood test. I had a test done on tuesday at 12dpo and my hcg number was only 50. My fertility clinic had me do another test this morning (4 days later) and it's up to 353! I'm so excited because I feel like I don't have to worry so much now, but I'm wondering if there's a possibility of twins! We would love to have twins, but not sure if we would still be able to have a homebirth...? I know I released two eggs last month so maybe....

If you know your numbers can you post them here so I can compare? Thanks!

I had my first blood drawn yesterday. i ended up passing out. sheesh :dizzy: I was sitting up so I think that had something to do with it and I was very nauseas at the time. I am also curious about my hcg number. I will post when I find out from my mw.

I had blood drawn on Friday to see if I am anemic... I asked them if they could do a pg test as well. I forgot to ask if they were going to do a qualitative or quantitative. I told her that since this was my first pregnancy and I hadn't had my first OB appt yet, I was scared someone would tell me all those peesticks were wrong - that the pg would just go away. She reassured me that I was fine, and that it wasn't going to go away - at least for 9 months! I am really hoping that they will call me with beta numbers on Monday, but I'll take just another confirmation on pg too... :o

Hurry up, November 16th!! (My first OB appt.) :irked:

Nope, but to be encouraging for anyone who has low numbers, I have a friend who's 2nd to youngest child was "not viable" according to some nurse after the blood test. Yeah... very not viable as she runs around and plays with her siblings and my dd :shake

love and peace. :love

We got our first numbers back, but I'm not even going to post them. The number is ridiculously high. :lol My husband assures me that the hospital doesn't do a BETA HCG test but a different test and the number doesn't mean what I think it does. But I am definitely pregnant (for now) and we'll have a second draw tomorrow and those numbers (assuming they are appropriately higher) will be the telling ones.

I go on Tuesday so I will be sure to post mine when I know them.
Do I ask for a qualitative or quantitative? It's quantitative that I want right?

i'm not from your ddc, but i know my #'s at those stages. at 12dpo my beta level was 129 and on 16dpo it was 626. as far as i know i'm only having one.

tricia, i can't wait to hear your numbers mama! clomid does increase the rate of twins a little bit, huh?

Oh goodness Chrissy, if my husband hadn't reassured me that the numbers they get from this particular test DO NOT correlate to what I'd find referenced online, I'd have been SURE we had SEVERAL people in there. :lol
I hesitate to post the numbers (although I will be sure to mention if they are rising as they ought) b/c they are so over the top!

Iampink how many dpo are you? I'm 11dpo and we found out yesterday. Both the first response and clearblue digital were poss, so I'm assuming we are. But since it's so early I still worry. I was going to go for a blood test tomm or Tues for confirm, but someone pointed out to me that if the hcg levels are too low that either they'll say I'm not preg or put me at high risk for mc. I'm going to call the dr tomm to see if they want me to come in and then a few days later to compare levels. So some of you have gone for testing early as well and everything's ok. Is it better to wait until after your supposed af date or longer? This would be our second.

Many let us know if it's twins. Is it normal for the levels to jump that high so fast?

iirc, #s are supposed to double daily? i think that's what i remember from ds2...

i probably won't go in for a blood test - i'm not planning on seeing a m/w until about 3 months along unless there's a need.

We also need to get a test for insurance purposes, or I'd just wait until mw wants to see me.

I never got this test last time. It measure the same thing that makes a line show up on a pregnancy test you pee on right? I won't be getting it this time either I guess, since I don't see my MW 'til 10 weeks. Is it pretty common to have a blood test done for pregancy?

This is my third pregnancy and the first time I've had blood drawn for HCG levels. This time we were prompted by a good deal of cervical pain that had me worried I was/am miscarrying.

At 10dpo I was at 20, 12 dpo at 67. Although, I wasn't charting and my cycles have been a little irregular so I'm not sure of the dates.

I have read that the numbers are supposed to double every 48 hours. Also, that with twins the numbers may not double quicker, are just higher in general. But, there are such big ranges, so it's really hard to tell.

The only reason I got it done was because I happened to have had my annual scheduled for the day I got a positive test. I told them I was pregnant, they ran a urine test and it was so faint they decided to do a blood test to confirm. Then another a couple days later since it was so early, and so the number was still really low.

I have to be on progestrone support, so that was part of it.

With my first pregnancy, I never had it done. My OB doesn't do a blood test unless there is concern.

i did not have beta's done with either of my other pregnancies. the only reason i had it done this time was that i have had 2 miscarriages earlier this year and so the ob's- and i- wanted to check on the viability of the pregnancy early on.

in just a normal pregnancy i would not have my beta's checked.

I got todays numbers back (man, I love having a doctor for a husband and getting lab results 2 hours after the blood draw!). They more than doubled.
They are a little over the normal range though, which has me a wee bit worried about twins. But healthy baby or babies is WAY better than none.

I'll update this after I know, but tomorrow I am going to get a blood test (tomorrow I will be 16 DPO, and three days after AF was due).

I'm getting it done just out of
A) Nervousness and fear
B) Curiosity

and
C) Nervousness and fear.

I want this baby to stick so badly. I wish I didn't get so excited! So far so good, though.

I got my results from my blood test from Friday. They didn't do a beta - just the yes/no test ( I guess because it was my GP, not my OB). The message they left said "you are definitely pregnant!" :shy

Ok, so my results from yesterday at 12dpo are 51. She said he may want to do another one to make sure they're doubling since it's early. But I think 51 is good, especially combined with 3 poss preg tests?

Ughhhh! The nurse practitioner and I have been playing phone tag since 3:50 now. She won't tell me on the voice mail and she won't let the nurse answering the phone talk to me about it- the nurse said the NP wanted specifically to talk to me. Now I'm so worried I want to throw up. What is going on?

Ohhhhh- I'm dying here. What is she doing? Doesn't she realize I'm cranky and horminal? I can't eat because I'm so nervous.

Oh NP... where are yoooooooou?

ETA: Ok, she finally called back. She said everything looks right where it should be for about 2-3 weeks pregnant (that was the range she was given). This is good, as I am only 17 DPO, and about 2.5 weeks based on my O date, if implantation happened that day!

I am happy, but still nervous. I hope I can calm down and just enjoy this!

Doulaclara I feel the same way. My second numers for 16dpo are 239, so I think that's good since it's so early, yet the dr want to do another after the weekend to make sure they're going up ok. What's up with that. I'm pregnant-they're giving me a note for the insurance, why are they doing this? They said nothing was wrong, it's just something he likes to do. Well, they didn't do that with ds-they didn't see me until I was 8 weeks along. And since I'm going with a mw, I'm going to talk to her about it today. I just want to be able to enjoy this baby. Although, I wont' really relax until 12 weeks is over-at least I didn't with ds.
