Hi, I'm an aussie chick, well, sort of.
I've been out of Australia for so long I actually pronounce the "L" in 'Australia"!
(7 years)!!
and now, I'm comin' home!!!
with my unschooled Brasillian-born dd (3.5yo still BFing, co-sleeping, slinging. we did CD too, but finished with nappies 2 years ago.)
and my Israeli DH.
DD has triple nationality - Aussie, brasillian and israeli, and DH has a spouse residency visa in his israeli passport.
anyway, I just really want to connect with like-minded mamas, AP, GD and unschooling are really important to me,
but
the big question is WHERE in this great brown land to move to (actually, it's pink on the map! :lol)
I honestly have no idea. I grew up in Adelaide, and while it would be nice to live near my family and have grandma and auntie babysitting and cheap rent and all that, they're still *my* family, and I dont want to be particularly near them, if YKWIM?!
I lived for a while in northern NSW, south of the Byron area, and would LOVE to be back in that neighbourhood, for me, its really the ideal place.
BUT DH is a computer programmer, and wants to find work in OZ doing that (so far we didnt find anything), so that puts our chances of living ona community in the bush somewhere a bit lower...
we looked at the idea of Melbourne, which I'd be willing to give a shot at (we just lived the last 2 years in Tel Aviv, Israel, so even living in Wangarratta or Broken Hill wouldnt be that bad ;)
anyway, nice to meet you all, and I hope to get to know better how things are down under (I started travelling O/S when I was barely 20, so virtually all of my adult life has been abroad. I probably have no idea what's going on there.)
