We saw the heartbeat today!! :p

I feel so much better now. I didn't sleep at all last night because I was so worried about a blighted ovum, or no heartbeat but a baby, or I don't know what.
I never ever worried with my other 2 about this! :dizzy: WTH?!

Unfortunately in this small ass town, my MIL told me this afternoon that she saw us go into the OB's office. I told her that we were out running errands and voting and whatnot and I forgot that I had to get another pap smear so we ran in there to get that done.
Yeah, she's not going to buy it for long. She knows that I had quit smoking and one of the boys said something about prenatals. I told her that I just finally decided to do all of this to make myself feel better. I've been taking the prenatals for months and I had really slowed smoking down because I knew that it directly affected fertility.

Also told my midwife my plans are right on track to have a homebirth and she wasn't the most supportive, but that's okay. She's just worried that her insurance will get taken from her for knowing about it. :duck:

Oh, so you're not confused, I am using a different midwife for my homebirth, but I went to my old one and OB today for the u/s and first stuff.

They want me back on the 21st so that they can do another u/s because the baby was too small to measure this time. He also said that he knew that I would feel more comfortable seeing the heartbeat really really beat since today was just a fluttering, but it was still there!
I haven't decided if I'll get the one in 2 weeks or not.

Anyway.... we saw the heartbeat!! Woohoo!!

Awesome! I probably won't see my midwife for another month at least - I hope to get in to see her and maybe hear the heartbeat before X-mas (we heard the heartbeat at 10 wks last time).

Yay for you.

FWIW, I seem to be WAY more obsessed with KNOWING all is OK in there this time. I remember the first trimester was anxious with my other two, but this is by far the worst. No clue why.

Yay! How fun.

I'm also quite a bit more paranoid this time, for some reason. Or maybe I just don't remember my paranoia well.

:truedat:
I'm thinking it might be just like the pain of childbirth. We block it out of our minds as soon as we pass on to the next stage.
