If you didn't read the other thread.... I went to my primary care to look at my swollen foot. He said it was either broken or tendonitis. He sent me to an outsourced x-ray place. They basically fill the whole room with radiation so that is WAY out.
Today, I had lunch with a nurse friend of mine. She had the same thing (I am guessing it is fractured) when she was pregnant. We have/had the same symptoms, and my swelling is NOT going down after over a week. She gave me the name of her podiatrist, and I have an appointment this week. The x-ray they do is supposed to be MUCH safer because they isolate the rays and shield the belly...or something like that. I think that is what my primary thought the other place would do, but they don't. My OB okayed this "protect the baby" technique so I guess I will find out what is wrong on Friday. I am still a little nervous that this could hurt the baby, but my ob approved it. She is SUPER cautious when it comes to any extra exposure for the baby (won't approve the 3-d images or anything like that). I guess it is just really important for them to find out what is wrong with my foot, and I know something is really wrong.
Btw, I didn't do anything to my foot. The dr. said that this could be from something as simple as my son stepping on my foot (he likes to do that) or dropping a toy or something on it. That kind of scares me because I have never broken a bone before. They also said that the changes in my body from the pregnancy could have been enough to make a little problem that much worse. Great.
