Ohhhhh.... my stomach! Anyone have any good remedies for morning sickness? When I was pregnant with dd, I was able to eat & make it go away, but this time eating makes me nauseous. Not eating makes me nauseous too.

:fever:

Oh, and an intro:

I'm Barb., mom to an almost 5 year old girl named Lydia, wife to my wonderful dh Gene, SAHM pretending at times to WAH. Got a BFP yesterday morning which only confirmed what I suspected last week. We weren't planning on having any more kids, but we're both really happy.

Hi Barb! Congrats and welcome!! I started feeling the same with the morning sickness.. funny thing is I didn't feel it until I got the BFP. I don't have any remedies for it but I know with ds1 eating some crackers and making sure I didn't get overly hungry helped. Maybe another mama might be able to help.

B6 can help some women, take it with your prenatal.

Lots of protein and stay away from the sugars. Protein will help keep your blood sugar stable which makes a lot of women sick (and why they are sick in the morning after "fasting" for 6-8 hours).

Ginger. You can make a tea out of it or get some of those ginger pop things (they're suckers).

Hypnobabies also has a morning sickness CD available. I've never heard it though so I don't know if it works. I do plan on ordering it soon but I'm only like 3.5 weeks right now so I'm hoping I have a few more weeks before I start feeling sick.

Welcome! :)

I've had horrible morning sickness this time. The only thing that's helped me so far is keeping something in my mouth almost all the time . . . hard candy, a handful of cereal, anything. Someone else on here suggest Vit B 6- 50 mg at bedtime. I haven't tried it yet but she swears by it and I'm going to pick up some today.

:hug Hang in there. My 6th week was horrible horrible horrible and now I'm 7 and a half weeks thing are already calming down and I don't feel dreadful ALL the time.

Yes, B6 helpe me. I'm not taking prenatals yet. I've been too sick to even think about it but it is on my list today.
The other thing my midwife suggested was fresh pineapple. I guess it has some enzymes that are helpful. I tried eating some while I cooked the kids dinner the other day and it actually helped take away that desparately hungry and sick feeling.

Hang in there! It is encouraging to hear that 2much2luv is comming out of the woods so to speak. I am clinging to the hope that this will pass soon.

Welcome!

Carbonated water always made me feel better, not the best tasting, but it worked.

Ginger anything and everything! I ate Swedish ginger snaps like crazy with my first.

I am guessing that protein really is good! I was disgusted by it during my first pregnancy (and felt sick everyday). I have craved it like you wouldn't believe this time, and I am feeling pretty good (compared to this far along last time).

The juice from a can of peaches is supposed to be really good, too. The nurse suggested it once when my son was really sick.

I also used peace of mind gum by Origins with my son. I guess I need to check to make sure all of the ingredients are safe now.... I would chew it and breathe deeply. Love the stuff!

Hope this helps!

I've started getting sick already, and I'm only around 3.5- 4 weeks! I'm finding it happens when I get hungry. I'm trying to make sure that doesn't happen.
