Dutch meet-up

A few of us have been discussing meeting up, probably in Amsterdam, some time soon. The discussion has been in the thread called "can you change the name of this forum" (or similar).

Ideas proposed have been Apenheul (but it's closed to non-members for the winter, and is only open to members on Sundays), an indoor playground like TunFun in Amsterdam, or a zoo (like Artis in Amsterdam). Other ideas are welcome. We don't have to meet in Amsterdam if someone has another idea for a place that's easily accessible via public transport.

Please post here if you're interested in participating. Include your children's ages and any special requests regarding day or time.

My 18-month old DD and I will be there.

Let's try to get something on the calendar before the holidays!

I'd be happy to host it in Utrecht too. Our house is smallish, but it would at least give us an indoor base (and we could always head to a nearby park).

We also have the Netherlands train museum here, which is surprisingly fabulous, has indoor and outdoor play areas, and has winter carnival events starting this month.

We're about a 10 minute walk from Utrecht Centraal train station.

My boys are 5.5yo and 2.5yo. I'd rather not go all the way to amsterdam if possible. Getting there is ok, it's the getting home with two very tired boys on public transport that's the hard part.

The train museum is fabulous, be we already have a get together there with another group in December.

Isn't there somewhere more in the middle we could meet? Den Haag?

I have a daughter 7.5 and a son 3.5. I'm only available in weekends as I work full-time, and I live way over in the east -- it takes me two hours to come by train to A'dam or Utrecht, the Hague or R'dam would be an extra half hour so I'd prefer a more central location.

I like the idea of a play place as the kids really love it adn that way the moms can chat :)

Oh I just read the updates in the other thread.

I think most of your kids are much smaller than mine, and I'm kinda out of the loop geographically and probably time-wise, too. So I think yall should just agree on what you would like, and if it works for me, I'll come too but otherwise maybe I could just meet up with someone when I happen to be in A'dam or something.

And yeah, I forgot that the play places are only relaxing for mom when the kids are a bit older ;)

My kids are 3.5 and 1.5, we will go anywhere.

Maybe we can just pick a place this time, and next time go to another location...should we start a poll? (there may not be enough of us).

I also would like to offer my house in Den Haag (we live like 5 blocks from the Voorburg Station), and there are 2 parks and a little 'farm' where you can feed goats, sheep, deer and geese within walking distance.

I am glad whoever mentioned the truth about the indoor play area, I would be climbing all day, and would barely know your names:lol ! I think the Zoo is a good idea because they can RUN!!:run although my dc may get lost in the monkey cages...
