Teething always in pairs?

I looked in the archives, but didnt find this specific question answered.. my dd is 13 1/2 months and has three top (the top two and one on one side-- dont know what you call that) and then two bottom front. She started getting teeth around 7 months and got all of those within a couple of months. I am still waiting on the other side on the top to come through! I thought they always came in in pairs? Is this all that unusual? Oh yeah I noticed she is already getting a molar too! It has already broken through the skin.

edited to add. the top two front DO have a space in between them.. not too big, but it is a definite space.

Nah, while it is common for teeth to come in pairs, it doesn't always happen that way.

The seemingly norm is two lower centrals then upper centrals, then lower laterals, then bottom laterals, BUT that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with different order of growth.

dd#1 got bottom central, upper laterals, upper centrals, then lower laterals..lol.. she is now 6, and has lower permanent centrals and laterals and upper centrals, since she's 5. Upper centrals don't normally come til kids are 7 or 8. But she had baby teeth most of them except molars befre 5 months.

Also, something common, is that tooth is nearby, but is floating a bit, slowly pushing through, then taking a break, then pushing again, this forms a bit of a scr tissue to break through making for a longer eruption period then the others. This is actually very common and nothing to worry about.

AHA! I see that tooth starting to come through.. in fact she is teething in several other places too ...... I was starting to get worried!

BTW I did check in the archives and did not see that particular question posed... :D
