Eww... No, not at all. I usually feel sick in the evenings. I'm actually craving veggies at that time. Like cherry tomatoes and carrots. Or applesauce. Otherwise, I can't eat much at night.
I love tuna casserole with potato chips on top. Does anyone else do that?

No cravings for tuna here, but here's what I found on the subject of 'how much':
In March 2004, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued new guidelines for how women who are trying to conceive, pregnant women, nursing mothers, and young children can limit their exposure to mercury in fish. They now advise eating no more than 6 ounces (about one serving) of canned albacore or "white" tuna. At the Department of Foods and Nutrition at Purdue University, we tend to be a bit more conservative and recommend eating no more than 4 ounces a week. Albacore tuna contains more mercury than the canned "light" variety, which can be relatively low in mercury.
According to the FDA/ EPA guidelines, you should also limit yourself to 12 ounces a week (about two servings) of canned "light" tuna and other cooked fish. Once again, our recommendations are more protective — eat fewer than 8 ounces a week of canned "light" tuna. And you should completely avoid shark, swordfish, king mackerel, and tilefish (also called golden or white snapper), tuna steak (fresh or frozen), orange roughy, Spanish mackerel, marlin, and grouper because these fish are at the top of the food chain and contain the highest levels of mercury.

:D Oh yeah, I hear you!!
The craving is because you are in need of protein and essential nutrients like omega 3 and 6. It is advised not to eat a lot of tuna, and to eat only white tuna at that if you do eat it. I understand your craving, though. Right now I have to eat a lot of mineral/vitamin nutrient rich foods (whole grains, veggies, etc.) and lots of protein to keep the nausea from becoming really overbearing.
I would suggest, though, to eat salmon! Much safer to eat and you can eat a lot of it! But make sure you are eating Wild Salmon and NOT farmed salmon! If you or partner are fishing type people, get out there and fish! My partner and I are, and we are lucky enough to have a few pounds of salmon around. I had it the other night and it was the best! I felt so good when I ate it. It is so healthy and good for you. If neither of you are fishing people, and buying wild salmon is too expensive, buy the canned salmon and make sure it says it is wild (or not farmed). If you buy any canned salmon from Alaska it will be wild because farmed fish is not allowed in Alaska.
Good luck!

You just gave me an idea. I can make "tuna" noodle casserole with canned salmon instead. :thumb

If you or partner are fishing type people, get out there and fish! Yes, but also be sure to check with your county on any contaminated areas. I was shocked and furious to find out that the lake we used to fish in was actually loaded with PCBs and mercury. :( You can also go to the EPA website and look up your zip code in the Toxics Release INventory.
Oh and to the original OP, yes I craved it two days in a row last week and ate half a sandwich one day, but I dont want to overdo it. I forget what organization/study actually recommends that once a month is a more realisticly safe limit.

With my last pregnancy I would get a wicked craving for tuna every month or so. I should mention that I'm vegetarian and don't eat fish! Three times I broke down and ate it (out of the can :o ). It always happened when I forgot to take flax seed oil pills (for the Omega 3s) for a few days. The pills would immediately make the cravings go away...
No tuna cravings yet. We'll see how long it takes me to break down this time.

DH won't let me and DD eat tuna at all. Your best bet is to substitute wild alaskan salmon.
mmmmmm, salmon. Now I'm hungry :)

I had a craving for it a couple of days ago and I ended up making the bestestest tuna salad sandwich I've had in a looooong time! I love tuna SO much and it was the first time in 2 weeks that I a)craved protein and b)actually enjoyed it when I ate it.
I'm so looking forward to next week when I can have another one (if my body still thinks it's good food... crazy food aversions!)

oh, also, I've read that white/albacore tuna actually has more mercury in it than cheapie flake tuna, which is happymaking for not-too-well-off me. I'd post the link if I could remember where I saw it...
emmas mommy, that's how I eat it, LOL. I like to scoop it up with Wheat Thins or Ritz crackers, yum yum yum.
I actually had a tuna sandwich for dinner last night. It was mighty satisfying....on a whole wheat bagel, and an apple, and yogurt for dessert! I was feeling so good and healthy, LOL
oh yes, and the reason why albacore tuna has mroe mercury is because albacore tuna comes from larger fish which have had more time to grow and eat other fishies, thus increasing their mercury amount. Canned light, OTOH, is from little tuna who haven't had a chance to grow and hunt the bigger fishies yet.

That makes total sense!

I've been craving sardines! I've had them twice this week and I usually never eat them. It all makes sense now. I've also been eating a lot of almond butter, which also has lots of good oils, perhaps for the same reason. I've decided I'm not going to eat any peanut butter this pregnancy. Nobody in my family is allergic but I hear they're now advising women not to eat peanuts during pregnancy because it could trigger an allergy.
