View Full Version : INSANE Fatigue

OMG this fatigue is killing me! I am so tired all the time I can barely keep my eyes open. I have a 2.5 year old DS and 4 year old DD, so napping during the day isn't an option.
Is there anything I can do to get my energy levels up?
I'm eating healthy and eating as much as I can, which admittedly probably isn't enough because most of the time when I do eat I just want to hurl after, I'm taking all my prenatals, getting out and exercising would normally work in the past, but all it does now is make me even more exhausted when I am done.
I don't know what to do, other than to hold onto the hope that this will pass in a few weeks towards the 2nd trimester.
Any advice would be much appreciated!
Thanks for listening to me whine. :love

I know some people don't agree with it, but coffee is my friend. It gets me through the day when I've only had a few hours of sleep because dd was up all night and all I want to do is go to bed. I don't go crazy with it, just one cup per day (but there was one day when I had 2).

I still have my one cup of coffee during the day, I just can't go without. I was a huge coffee drinker before. I didn't drink alot, but I would make it so strong and I would get a definite kick from it. Red Bull has nothin' on my coffee. :p
Maybe that is what some of the problem is. I'm still having my one coffee during the day, but now of course I am not making it strong at all so the coffee while it actually tastes good isn't doin' much for me. :lol Funny thing is the coffee is the one thing that doesn't actually upset my stomach, go figure! :dizzy:
The upside is this constant fatigue and pukey feeling and all the other crazy stuff going on probably means I have a sticky bean, I hope so anyways! :heartbeat That is what I keep telling myself everytime I want to snap from sleepiness. :lol

Milano cookies. I discovered today that I feel much more energetic when I eat them. :wink
Eating a snack once in a while does keep up my energy. I've been eating much less at meals and then having more snacks. I've reallying been digging cinnamon applesauce and cherry tomatoes.
I think that a little activity couldn't hurt, either. I do a lot of stretching to help me sleep. I'm going to start doing some prenatal workout videos. I wasn't very active before pregnancy, but I feel like birth is a marathon that I need to prepare for.

No advice, just wanted to say I TOTALLY HEAR YOU . . . I've been so exhausted it's ridiculous. Not to mention this is the end of the semester at school and I have tons and tons of work to do. :yawning:

oh no, I couldn't imagine trying to finish a semester of school right now! :hug
I too am soooooooo sleepy all the time and it makes me really cranky because ds refuses to let me even lie down. :( And dp has been so NOT understanding. He thinks I'm over exaggerating (sp??) trying to get some extra attention for being pregnant. Well EXCUSE me for wanting/needing some extra friggin TLC, and god forbid he step into my shoes and see what I mean! :irked: grrr. lol, sorry, got on a rant there :lol But YES, I am getting so beat with this fatigue and also praying that it subsides in a few weeks. :dizzy:

It hasn't hit me full force yet, but I know it's just a matter of time. And I have yet to figure out how to overcome it, but I hope it passes quickly for you!

I work out of my house and when I was PG last time, I used to fall asleep sitting up at my desk almost every day during the first trimester. I would take about a 20 min nap with my hand still on the mouse or the keyboard. Sometimes I'd wake up with a single letter scrolled across the monitor...
Thankfully it hasn't hit me yet, but I know it's coming. So unfortunately I have no advice other than powernap if you are lucky enough to have the time! It does wonders!

I'm with you all! I've never been so tired in my life. I'm usually pretty energetic, so it feels wierd. Here's wishing everyone a chance to squeeze in some much needed naps...

It's hit me too. I have 3yr old and a 15mo old. Napping isn't an option for me. I wake up exhausted, go to bed exhausted, and then get insomnia. So no ideas for you.

Oh man, this fatigue is killing me too. I have a 21 mo ds who doesn't nap in the afternoon most days. I WOH and start at 5 am each day. DH works very long hours so all the child rearing and house work is left up to me. Plus I have a nasty head cold. :sneeze:
Oh yeah and please tell me why I wake up at 1-2 am (without being woken up by ds) and can't get back to sleep for like an hour.

It is starting to hit me too.... I run my own business and thank goodness the crazy season is coming to an end. I have only three more sessions an a few client appointments and then I am done until February. I am hoping that first trimester sleepies/yuckies will have subsided by then so I can work a bit more before I take my maternity leave.
I too could not live with out my coffee....this is my first pgcy drinking coffee LOL! But with a 6, 4 and 2 year old and running my business there really is no other option! I am crashing by 3:30.
I told the older two we would plan some afterschool activites to do w/out me at home since my body will be working hard and makeing me grumpy LOL! We are picking up some new maze books, puzzles, art pads and leapster games this week. Gotta have something to tide them over until DH gets home.
