Anyone have any guesses or preferences? This baby is a complete surprise to use. Our son is 2 and our daughter is 9 months, so we all ready have a 'matched pair' :lol

My husband said quite dismally last night, "I'd sort of like another boy, so it will probably be a girl."

This is the first time he's expressed a gender preference, so now I'm hoping it's a boy, too :bag:

Is anybody going to get an u/s done to determine gender? We are going with a homebirth midwife, but I was thinking of buying me one of them-thar fancy 4D U/S.

(I bet that's a totally anti-NFL thing to say, isn't it  )

I have two girls from my old marriage, and now everyone (at least, DP and the girls) seems to really want a boy. In fact, they are getting their hearts a bit set on it. I'm actually getting swayed, too, not that I wouldn't want a girl, I feel a lot more comfortable with them, but I know my partner would be an awesome father to a son (my ex never would have been).

Don't know yet if we'll do anything to find out gender...maybe if people continue to get their minds set. :)

I won't be getting an U/S this time. But with dd I knew the moment I was pg that I was having a girl. I had 2 U/S last time but they couldn't tell me the gender. This time around I'm pretty sure it's a boy. Before I got pg, I was thinking how nice it would be for the next child to be a girl so that dd could have a sister. I always wanted a sister growing up. But I really don't think it's meant to be this time around. This baby is telling me that it's a boy, and I'm fine with that. :)

Both my boys were very high maintenance babies, so I'm sort of hoping for a little girl this time. I know I have just as equal of a chance as having a difficult baby girl, but it's a mental block I have. And I always imagined my family would have a girl last.

Really though, I don't care, I just want a healthy, 38+ weeker. And I kind of have a boy vibe, but I'm almost always wrong in guessing my own babes, so who knows. We won't be finding out the gender this time, so it will be fun trying to guess for the next 9 months or so!

DH says we are having a girl. He has always said we would be a house full of girls. Already had 2. For some reason I feel like we are having a boy. Does not really matter though.

Same situation we're in. I have two girls from my ex and everyone wants a boy. My husband really wants a boy. If I had already had one of each, we probably wouldn't have had any kids together. I also want a boy, but I figure I'm used to girls and we have lots of girl clothes. So, no big deal to me either way. I'm just already tired of people talking about it.

I will probably have an u/s to determine it. I'm a peeker.

DH is really feeling boy. This is our first and neither of us have a preference. Maybe it's just his influence but I think maybe boy too! It might also be b/c we have a boy's name already set and the girl's name is totally up in the air.
Won't find out till August though!

Judging from the timing of when we BD'd, the odds are slightly tipped in favor of a girl, and I'm kind of hoping for a girl. I'm not getting any gender vibes yet though. With my first pregnancy, I thought it would be a girl at first, but from about 14-15 weeks on, I was sure it was a boy. (It was a boy!)

I'll be having an ultrasound at about 20 weeks, so we'll find out the gender, although that's not the reason we're doing the u/s. I have a family history of birth defects and will feel much more at ease UCing with a normal u/s (although I know only half of defects are detected).

i have a VERY strong feeling its a boy. i have been feeling little boy energy for about a year now following us around. i will be REALLY shocked if its a girl.

i dont really WANT and u/s but MIGHT maybe possibly do one at 18-20 weeks. DD was an SUA baby, and i would like to know if this one is too, so i can make a concious effort to up my protien

Well if you ask DS#1 (6.5) he says "Well Mom, we kind of have a pattern here. I was first and was a boy, then Ainsley, then Owen so this one should be a girl" LOL! Can you tell he is the logical thinker of the house LOL! But we don't care either way, girl would be nice for DD but boy would be nice to have clothing and rooms with DS #2.

I would really love to have a girl as we think this is our last baby and we have our son. I would really like to see what it's like to have a girl and my son is so attached to me and says "Daddy go away" now.

I remember being crazy about my dad when I was growing up and I want him to experience that too. Dh is such an affectionate, loving, caring man that it would be great if all his hugs would be reciprocated. All ds wants is me!

Hard to say- I did have a flash of twin boys but that could be totally off...

We aren't planning any u/s.

I had a dream a while ago I had 3 boys. I would love to have 3 boys. But I would love a girl too. Everyone in my family wants a girl. In fact my aunt told me this one better be a girl.... that makes me sad. Boys are so fun. We just haven't had a baby girl in our family in a while (14 yrs) so I know they all want to buy little dresses and other totally impractical things. But I know what I was like as a teenager and I don't look forward to that... :lol

Now if I would only dream of a name..... this is going to be really hard.

i dreamed last night of a beautiful baby girl, with dark curly hair like dh's. she was so happy and sweet and i was completely attached to her. i'm not sure if she's my babe or if i was swayed by a movie we watched last night with a really lovely woman with long dark curly hair. i guess time will tell...this is my first dream about it since i've gotten pg.

dh says it's a boy, by the way, and calls him "little fella." we don't plan on finding out the sex...do you think the kid'll have a complex if we assume wrong? i always wonder about that...:lol

I am kind of hoping for a girl...I have one of each right now and I was kind of hoping for a girl with my son too but only so that my dd would have a sister. I think that sister relationship can be so great...and I never had a sister :(

But I do LOVE my sweet boy :)

It really doesn't matter all that much though, I will be happy with either one!

farmama,

I had dreams with both of my children...one that showed me my dd and told me it was a girl. Then with my son (while I was kind of wishing for a girl!) I had this dream about a little boy being born and I got really upset in the dream and my midwife was like.."no, its okay really its a girl see?" and his penis disappeared :lol . I knew it was a boy :)

Wondering if I will get a tell tale dream with this one!

DH and I always wanted to have a girl first, and "intuition" tells me that's what the little babe is. Of course, everyone says it will be a boy since we both want a girl :p

I'll have an u/s at 20 weeks or so, but I want to be surprised with the next one.

My daughter (nearly 4 now) feels pretty sure it's a boy. She thinks we need balance in our family and we already have two girls (her and me). She's even telling people that she'll be having a boy baby in her family. She does know that it might be a girl, and sometimes corrects herself, "When he..or she, whatever...is born..." But I kind of hope for a boy myself. I've wanted to name a child after my dad since shortly after he died, over 20 years ago. And there's just no feminine version of "Gregory" that I much care for.

I haven't told her anything about twins. They do run in my family (I am a fraternal twin), but I don't want to get her hopes up for more babies than I can provide. I worry enough about losing this one and having to tell her that.

I want a puppy! :wink

Actually, either would be fine with me, but I'd love to have a little boy. On the other hand, a little girl would be pretty cool too.

Gah, who can decide!

I'm thinking if it ends up being only one, then boy. If there are two there, then most likely boy and girl. I've always felt that the first one I have will be a boy and the second will be a girl.

I think I would have a difficult time coming to terms if I ended up with two of the same sex or just one girl, because it doesn't at all go with what I've been feeling and I'm typically pretty spot on with my intuition.

When it comes down to it, though, health is of much greater importance than sex. That's ferdernsher. ;)

Amen! I will be having multiple visits with perinatal specialists and extra ultrasounds because I came down with chicken pox at 4 weeks.

With all those ultrasounds I don't know if I can make myself wait to find out this time. With my daughter I found out when she was born. While pregnant with my daughter I loved the not-knowing. My husband and I had so much fun referring to the baby as him and her on alternating days! My best friend, on the other hand, threatened to bribe the OB who did my level 3 ultrasound (threatened miscarriage several times in that pregnancy, venous lake under the placenta--goodness but I seem to have pregnancies fraught with tension).

For some reason I'm really anxious to know this time around. So, the answer is, I don't know if we'll find out.

Before getting pg I was sure that I would have a girl first. Hubby is absolutely
convinced that the first baby must be a boy, though, because any girls we
might have [B]must[B] have an older brother. Jeesh!

I've been so confused by his certainty that I just don't have any strong feelings
one way or another. We aren't going to find out til birth, though I believe I'll
start to get an inkling as we progress. Waiting for the dreams!

oh, and I just wanted to add that it's equally likely that I'll have either/or if just one or any combination of sexes if two, due to when my partner and I BD'd.

I honestly don't care what I'm having as long as it is healthy. I really wanted a boy with my last pregnancy that I lost, but this time around I don't care. This will be my last pregnancy so I will enjoy it no matter what I'm having.
I do want to find out what I'm having just as soon as I can though. The suspense always kills me!:lol

We will not do an ultrasound (unless medically indicated). I love the mystery of it. Yesterday and the day before I thought it was a girl and today I think a boy. Chinese lunar calendar says a boy. DH wants a kangaroo!!:lol
