Is it safe to drink during pg? Is it safe to drink at all? Curious mamas, because it tastes really good during this pg, but I don't want to harm the baby.

If you want to drink coffee:

1-2 cups of regular coffee a day is absolutely fine.

If you really want to have decaf, make sure that it is Swiss water process decaf, otherwise, it has been decaffeinated through a chemical process.

The PP said exactly what I was going to say. I don't do regular coffee at all, but have decaf whenever I feel like it. "Decaf" coffee isn't completely caffeine free though, and I have read that the water process of decaffeination isn't quite as effective as the chemical (much healthier, though). So don't go overboard and drink gallons of the stuff if you are trying to avoid caffeine.

Well, I do want to avoid the caffeine. I only drink about a cup a day/every other day. So not too much. I guess I thought it was better than coffee, but someone mentioned the chemical process of decaffienation can be more harmful for you than regular coffee. I wouldn't call myself a coffee drinker, thankfully, so it will be easier for me to cut back to maybe a couple cups a week.

Thanks ladies.
