massage bar recipe

Does anyone have a recipe for massage bars? i would really like to make some.

I have seen kits for them at Michaels, but I would rather make my own. The bath bomb kit they have is $35:eek: I know that it doesn't cost that much to make bath bombs,. I am sure it is the same with massage bars.

are you talking soap?

If you are, then I would recomend using pure essential oils of Peppermint, lavender, and a hint of lemon

You can pick up molds for melt and pour soap at local craft shops. I got massage bar molds for $2.50

Thanks for responding LaLa. No, i am not talking about soap. The kits that I have seen make what looks like a bar of soap, but they are for massaging. You rub the bar over the skin or in your hands and then massage.

I think that it is just a combo of coconut oil and beeswax...sorry no actual recipe... but I know that coconut oil is mostly solid at room temparture and the bees wax wouls stffen it up a bit. Good luck and let me know if you find a good recipe, it sound like it would be fun to make.

here is the recipe i use

1 part oil
1 part beeswax
1 part butter (shea, mango. cocoa whatever)

You can tweek this basic list to fit your needs and use whatever oil you want. Be aware that the hardness and properties of your oils will affect the outcome of the bar.

grapeseed oil would work as well as Apricot Kernal Oil, Avacado Oil, I wouldn't really use coconut oil as it can be drying.....
