i am the wife of a emt/firefighter, not a cop, but i can at least partially sympathize with the situation of worrying about dh while he works....

I am the wife of a police officer.

The biggest thing I can think of is you really need to be able to listen when they need to talk.

The hours my dh work are hard on family time so I maintain no schedule in our house just so when dh is home we can be with him. We used to live in town which really was better for family life. Now we live 20 mintues outa town which is hard but nice because now we dont have to deal with the people dh interacts with each day. Tacks strips where we park our car, rotten eggs on the cars, punctered tires, profanity and the list goes on. Living in the country we dont have that stuff going on now.

Also have to be a person who doesnt repeat what dh has told you about whatvever he is working on.

My dh often works nights and being he is in a small town is the only one on duty, if he needs back up, somebody is going to have to get out of bed to come help him by then it could be to late. Thats the only thing that really makes me nervous about dh work.

Dont really know if I could be of much help to you as I imagine the FBI would be differant from a P.O.

Feel free to Pm me if you would like:)
