Pregnant after M/c 4 wks ago?

Hello everyone. I was just curious as to how fast one can get prego after a M/c. I had mine naturally at home, it all started about 4 weeks ago, lasted for about 2. Then I got sick, felt some symptoms that were a little to familiar, and I took a preg test. It came up postitive. I wonder if my hormone levels are still high? eeekkk,,,,, But, the doc said when I miscarried, they would drop, they dropped over a month ago about 400 a day, last checked, down to 800, but that was 4 weeks ago, since then i have passed the sac and all the tissue. Bleeding has completely stopped, and now I take a test, and the 2 lines are there. Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks

Matzgrl, a warm and gentle welcome to Mothering. I'm so sorry that the loss of your baby brought you here.

It does sound too soon to be pegnant and testing positive. Even thought your hormone levels are droping, there may still be enough present to turn the test positive.

I'm not an expert in this field, so you may want to check with a midwife or doctor. This must be very confusing so soon after losing your baby.

How are you feeling otherwise? Do you still have some pregnancy symptoms? Do you have other children at home?

Usually, I'd say too early. However, that said, i have a girlfriend that is due to delive rin 2 months. She conceived right after her m/c without ever having a period. So it IS possible and it IS possible to have a healthy pregnancy. I'd get checked out though to be sure. if the do the HCG now and in a few day sto see how the levels are going. up or down. It could be pregnancy or tail end of the loss.

I'm sorry for your loss. Wish pregnancy loss was non existant.

I had a m/c on Jan 30. 1st normal period on Feb 28th. Tommorrow I will be 11 weeks pg. So it sure is possible.
My m/w said on the phone, Oh it must be a false positive..blah, blah, blah. So I took a blood test to get hormone levels~ The test was a 1. Someone screwed that test up!


So, did you ever find out anything?

Well, I did have the blood work done, and it was at a 300. So obviously really low. I am going in for a sono, to make sure it all came out naturally. So, going on 8 weeks since it all started. Though, all is well. Hubby was great about it all. We will try for another after I have had a period.

Well actually what happened, is I miscarried, but not all of it, so 8 weeks later, after my miscarraige, I had to still have a d/c. So, that was pretty horrible. That happened about 2 weeks ago. Just wanting life to get back to normal!! Hubby and I will try for a baby after my first regular cycle. My doc, said no need to wait longer. :love
