I have tried all sorts of different prenatals, including the Rainbow Light 6/day, and I swear it's like I'm taking cement powder instead. I will go days and days and be completely constipated and miserable after I take a prenatal vitamin. I even tried just taking 3/day of the RL and that didn't work either. I eat lots of fiber and drink a ton of water. If I don't take the prenatals then I am totally fine and regular and feel much much better.
Could I maybe just take a regular multi-vitamin? I am running under the assumption that it's prob the extra iron that is doing this to me right?

it could be....or not.
LOL
i can't stand to take any iron at all......my levels are fine w/o supplementation and taking vit supps makes me ill.
I genrrally take a woman blend w/o iron or a seniors blend..i find that seniors blends work well because they tend to have extra antioxidants, and no iron. You just have to make sure the Vit A source isn't too much palmitate and that you take extra folic. I find the kind of calium/mag that comes in supps is useles and always take my own anyway...of course, SA supps are a must....
so, a senior multi w beta carotene, extra folic, extra SA, a good ionic liquid cal/mag and some barlet/green supllements and i am generally good.
Also, if you need the iron, avoid the common "ferrous sulfate" it is the constipator.....try ferrous fumarate or some other form....
