Hey mamas Im Dylan. :lol Im 18 years old and due September 6th! Im almost 6 weeks and still very scared. I found out when I was 5w1d. My stupid boyfriend left me when he found out. Im trying to think positive about this baby. I love him already (I think its a boy)!! Im not just being naive. Im very young but I have a great family support system. My parents are divorced but I live with my dad and he knows. Hes disappointed but is sticking by, my side, he knows I need it right now, more than I ever have. My mother on the other hand isnt talking to me. I know shell come around evenutally. Enough about that stuff though.

So Im 18, I turn 19 on May 12th, and Ive graduated from hs already, and have been in college since fall of 06. I start my 2nd semester very soon and I will be able to finish it before baby comes. My major is Psychology. Its very interesting to learn how the brain works. I love it. So Im very young. I act like a 12 year old at times and other times I act alot older than my age. My personality is all over the place and I look forward to getting to know everyone as our bumps grow! :lol

Congrats! How did you find your way to Mothering? It's a great place to learn a lot and I wish I knew about it before my first was born. . .

Hello there!

Your story sounds similar to mine when I was 18. I found out I was pregnant the first week of college. I stayed in the dorms until the end of the semester (in December) then I got an apartment very close to campus. My son was born May 1st, the week before finals. I got out of the hospital on a Wed, and a few hours later I put him in a sling and went to take my math final! You gotta do what ya gotta do... :lol (my daughter, by the way, was born 6 weeks before I graduate college!)

There are a lot of sterotypes out there for young mamas - and I'm here to say that they are not always true!! I breastfed my son for 3 years (tandum nursed my children for 6 weeks), my son is intact, we co slept for 4 years, and we did not let him cry it out. I was judged often by people who didn't know me, but simply knew me as the teen mom. But here we are, 7 years later and doing GREAT.

So -- congratulations on your pregnancy!! I wish you the very best of luck... :bfs
