Anyone have any suggestions on how I can keep myself awake during the day....I have a small family style daycare I run out of my home (right now I have 2 siblings, 4 and 2 and a 10wk old full time and a 2 yo part time for a few hours in the afternoon ) in addition to my 2.5yo....I am sooo tired.......hard to pull myself out of bed at 7:30 everyday.....

I need to be able to function better than I am.....we havent' done a craft all week bc I am sooo tired....we are today though..just simple coloring...nothng fancy...

I don't remember being this tired the first go round but DH seems to remember me being so....

What is everyone doing to wake up??????

I feel for you. I am struggling just to deal with my two that are home. I personally drink coffee in the morning (one cup) which helps me wake up first thing. Small meals all day helps too. Big meals just put me out. Drinking plenty of water. I notice I start feeling really tired if I let myself get dehydrated. The rest of the time I just FORCE myself to do something, anything. Hang in there, this too shall pass!

Mmmm.... me too. I woke up on Tuesday morning, puttered around, ate breakfast and then went back to sleep for an hour.

Yesterday I'll admit I sat at work with my eyes closed for ten or so minutes, thinking how nice it would be to be back in bed, sleeping. :o

When we went through the house to put things in storage DH put my coffee maker in storage..he says he didn't but it's nowhere in the house (i even looked in the linen closet...) and he doesn't drink coffee so he wouldn't htink twice about it.....

I think not having the caffine for a bit is making me more tired.....ugh...coffee.......caffine......

Luckily, the 2 girls I have today still take 2 hour naps in the afternoon......SO they will be on their nap mats and dd and i will be on the sofa around naptime....reading...I am not a super heavy sleeper so if someone wakes up, I'll be up....

Just soooooooooo tired................

I don't think the gloomy cold weather is helping either.....it's been in the mid 50s the past few weeks and cold cold this week.,

I feel your pain! I am absolutely wiped most of the time too. I usually go to bed by 7pm, and DP puts the kids to bed after that! I sleep 12 hours and still wake up as though I've only slept 4.
What I do find can help is being active. I mean, if I'm doing something, it's easier to "forget" how tired I am, and I get some energy. If I'm up and about doing housework, or doing something at work that requires walking around, and I know there is something I'm going to have to do in an hour that will require me to be alert, I try and continue being active until then. I find it easier to be ready to be sharp and alert rather than coming to that task from sitting down or napping (even worse!).
I hope this passes, but I do remember the last time whining well into the second semester that I thought it was supposed to get better after week 12 but it didn't. :dizzy:

I am so tired, and so emotional- I think that they are going together!

I was nearly in tears when it was time to get out of bed this morning, because I was so tired and didn't know how I was going to make it through the day. Then, at 1:30, I was so tired, I couldn't resist it any more. My girls were playing on the computer, and I passed out cold for a half hour. Then just before dh got home, I wrapped myself up in a blanket and went back to sleep. This is what I remember most about the first trimester- the inescapable tiredness. (why am I still awake?)

I'm tired too. The house is in desperate need of cleaning, I have a weekend full of chores to get through and this morning when I woke up I had a nice cry because it all feels too overwhelming to deal with. I slept 12 hours last night and although I feel better than I have all week I'm still dragging. I guess I have to learn to just let go, I just can't do it all.... but it's so frustrating.

Thanks for letting me vent, my DP is the one taking most of the heat....

So glad I'm not the only one. I've been napping most afternoons for a good portion of DS's nap. And I've been letting most of the unimportant things slide and only doing things that must be tended to. It sometimes seems like I can't physically make myself move off the couch. I'm looking forward to some more energy in the 2nd trimester.
