I have a family (and personal) history of placental insufficiency, so while I dream of a home birth, it's just not an option for me. I'll be having this baby in hospital and seeing my specialist OB. I'm expecting an induced vaginal delivery this time, too.

In a hospital, with a midwife, hopefully natural, and I'm very strongly considering hiring a doula. :)

I'll be delivering in a small, rural hospital - no OBs here (and the midwife doesn't have hospital priveleges) - I'll be delivering with a general practitioner. I hope to have a natural childbirth again. I've thought about a doula, but she prefers homebirths (yes, I really mean *the* midwife and *the* doula - there's only one of each, as far as I know).

I voted homebirth with a midwife and natural. I've yet to totally convince my dh about the homebirth although I feel he is on board. I haven't contacted the midwife yet either. I went natural with my last 2 so I feel good about that part. Possibly a waterbirth.
There are a couple of doula's around here - not sure about that one. Need to find out the cost. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to have an extra set of hands around. :wink

I will be having a repeat c-section (obviously at the hospital). This will be my third c-section.

I tried to have a BC birth with my DS but I was transferred to the hospital and had every intervention known to man, it seemed. I'll try for another BC birth this time, and hopefully the second time is the charm!

I go to a practice with three midwives and three OBs, and they just kind of rotate you so you get to know them all. The practice works with a great hospital with a birthing center attached that encourages water births and has an OR on site in case a C-birth is necessary.
Since this is my first pregnancy I'd like to hire a doula, as I think I'd like to labor as long as possible at home and I'd feel better with someone who knows what they're doing there with me, who can make the call that we should go to the birthing center.
As for meds -- I'm putting no expectations on myself. If I need meds, I'll get meds and not beat myself up over it.

I'll be using the same OB/hospital I did last time, I like her a lot!
Last time I had to be induced due to high blood pressure 3 days before my due date. This time I hope to avoid being induced, I'd like to go into labor on my own.
I'm sure I'll get an epidural again, but last time I had to go in the night before for cervadil...so that night they gave me Ambien and some drug through my IV, and both made me woozy the whole next day when I was in labor. So this time I want nothing other than the epidural!

For the 1st I had a military hospital birth. Alot of rules & regs. Couldn't move around but luckily for me, I was only in labor/delivery for 3 hours and 24 minutes.
For the 2nd, I *tried* to have a natural birth in a reputable hospital but I must had a bad staff that night. I was stuck n my back with back labor unable to get up and reposition. After 14 hours of pain like that, I ended up with an epidural. But it was also what happened after the birth that made a bad experience worse.
Anyway, the experience was so bad that it even convinced my DH that this time around we are going for a HB with a MW. I'd love to have a doula, too... but the cost of a HB is probably going to be too much for us unless we can get through the insurance loopholes. ;)

I plan to try for a VBAC at a hospital with the same OB I had with dd. I will definitely hire a doula this time.

I'm planning a homebirth with a midwife and, of course, going natural. This will be my first HB though my other births were unmedicated. I'm very excited! I'm no planning to hire a doula, though I have several strong support women who will be there.

I'm planning a HB with a midwife. We meet the MW for the first time next week.
No doula, but several "birthy" friends who I want to be present, and hopefully my MIL, who actually wants to become a doula...

I have had 5 unmedicated as natural as possible hospital births, and I am planning a homebirth with a midwife. Now I just have to figure out where to come up with the money, lol. I am pondering the idea of having a doula there as well, because I am single, but am not sure yet, as i do not like to be talked to or touched when in labor. Maybe I will just have a friend attend, or if the midwife would like to bring someone to sit on the side and observe for learning, that would be fine with me. I have quite a while to get it all figured out, i am just a little over 3 weeks pregnant, sooooo, plenty of time.
