As of 9:45 this morning, I was tired and would loved to take a nap.
It's now 12:07 and I want a nap sooo bad!
The problem is that DD (3) just started skipping her nap about a week ago.
When she naps, she's awake until 11:30 PM. Like last night. I woke her up after 30 mins. She was finally dragged to bed at 11:15. (The same time as DH)
When she doesn't nap, she's in bed around 8- 8:30. LOVELY!!
She's always been a night owl. She's seen New Year's and then some twice!

So how do I deal with this? I'm desperate for a nap, but I know if I lie down , she'll snuggle in with me and be OUT!

How do Mama's of toddlers handle this??

1. She watches a half hour video while you half-doze in a chair.

2. You get a young teen mothers helper to play for an hour while you nap.

3. You trade with another mom.

4. You have a cup of coffee and clock watch until 8:30.

5. You listen to Sandy Cash "The boy next door" and realize you too would sell your soul for a teenage boy who let your toddler "watch" while he fixed his motorcycle.

Good luck! Lisa

When I was pg with dd, I would put on a video for ds (but it was longer than a half-hour:bag: ) then I'd go into the spare bedroom right next door and sleep.
This time, I spend a lot of time on the couch with one ear open, and sometimes an eye. The kids (1 and 5) play together. I haven't resorted to a video yet, but I will if I need to. The thing is, the 1 yo doesn't really watch them, so it's better if she plays with her brother.

Look for a homeschool teen in your area. I have arranged "bartering" with one that lives fairly close to me. I have computer web skills and will teach her some HTML and CSS in exchange for watching my almost 2 year old while I nap.

Do you have a skill to pass on like knitting, scrapbooking, computer skills, etc...?

Homeschool teens also like money! :lol
