I'm reading through the Education Welfare Act of 2000 and it seems that the National Educational Welfare Board has the power to come into my home, assess my child and tell me I can't homeschool. Am I reading this correctly?

We are looking to move to an unschooling friendly country in Europe and Ireland is just so gorgeous and the people are so wonderful...we'd love to move there! But I am concerned that unschooling isn't accepted as readily in Ireland as more traditional, structured homeschooling.

Hi there! You might want to check out The Home Education Network of Ireland (http://www.henireland.org/), if you haven't already. They also have a yahoo group where you can talk with other homeschooling and unschooling families. There are definitely a few families that unschool on that group, and probably many more throughout the country. Good luck! :)
