I know you have to take all comments and advice with a grain of salt. Take what you need and leave the rest. But this one has me confused. Everyone says each pregnancy is different (and boy, it is. This one is *nothing* like DS). But I've had a few people tell me that this one will come early too since DS was, maybe even earlier. But others tell me that doesn't make a difference.
Anyone know? Have experience?
Thanks!

My brother (#1) was born 2 1/2 weeks early and I (#2) was born a week early. My son (#1) was 3 weeks early (water broke) and my daughter (#2) was 10 days early. With mine, the due dates are right on - no miscalculations. I wish my mom had a third, so I'd know when to expect my third!
My first and my second were born at exactly 38 weeks! I don't know if it's a coincidence or if 38 weeks is just the right amount of time for my body to grow babies...anyhow, I'm not complaining! Neither one of them had any trouble nursing and were in good health.
I'm hoping this one is born at 38 weeks too!

1st born at 34 weeks, 2nd born at 39 weeks. Both labors began with my water breaking.

You might be more likely to give birth early, since you've already had one baby early, but that's no guarantee.
Just my own anecdotal evidence. My sister had her first on her due date and then they just kept coming earlier. #2 9 days early, #3 2 1/2 weeks early, and #4 4 weeks early.
My mom, on the other hand, had 5 babies and we were all over the place. Some early, some late.
I think you just never know, unless your body has a reason for deliveing premature and you actually know about it.

from personal experience...
#1 - 10 days early
#2 - 7 days past EDD
#3 - 5 days past EDD
#4 - 3 days past EDD
#5 - 4 days past EDD
#6 - I am guessing 3 days past EDD

This is my first, so I can't offer any personal experience, but...
My entire family goes late. My grandma has 13 kids. Everyone was at least 2 wks over due. (The doctors thought she was "figuring" wrong at first, but finally conceded that it was unlikely she misfigured 13 times!). My mom and every one of my aunts went at least 2 wks over with each of their kids.
Don't know if that really helps any, but that's my family "experience."

My first was 2 days before her edd, my son was 8 days before edd, I hope this one is early too.

I have been wondering the same thing myself. My son came at 36 weeks and 2 days when my water broke. I am a little worried that the same will happen with the next one.
My doctor said that I really don't have a greater chance of having an early baby. It is always likely, but my chances haven't gone up dramatically. She also told me that I am not allowed to go anywhere in June just to be safe. I guess we are just playing the wait and see game, but we are being careful all the same. My first labor was super fast so I don't really feel like having a baby in the grocery store.

This is completely non-scientific..but I seem to have a lot in common with my mother when it comes to child bearing, so I look to my moms experience with things like this. The way she felt during pregnancy is the same way I feel and her babies were always early and so far mine have been too.
My dd was due Feb. 24th and was born Feb.11.
My ds was due May 12th and was born April 24th. So , in my case my second was even earlier. I am a bit concerned that this one will be even earlier..or too early.
However, I am trying not to expect that I will go early with this one at all. I don't think it is a guarantee that I will go early since my others were early.

I think it depends on what you mean by early. :lol
If you've had a previous premature or preterm baby, it increases your chance for another preemie slightly.

DS1- 2 weeks before edd
DS2- 2 weeks after edd
DD3- 2 weeks before edd
who knows:lol

It can depend on what made your labor begin early the first time. But anecdotally, most of the people I know who had babies before their due date the first time had babies before their due date the second and subsequent times.

My first was born at 40 wks, second was preterm labor galore and she was born at 36wks, third child I went into labor at 28wks and a few more times after that and he was then born at 38 wks, 4th was the same way as well. My doctor says when one comes early, then it is typically a domino effect after that....I believe it!

My doctor says the second ones like to hang out in the uterus longer than first ones... in my case, that is true. You may enjoy my thread with a pole about this same subject... here's the link!
