Hi,
I'm so glad I found this sub-forum here - I am moving to NL in about a month, and really hoping to meet some NIPers/APers to chat to :shy
My background, v briefly = Dutch parents, lived abroad (mainly UK) except for 4 years in NL working for KPN (!) from 1999 - 2003. Met partner there, took him to Wales so I could do a creative writing MA, got pregnant but lost our first son, Hedd, due to cervical incompetence -
Got pg again and with the help of an emergency cerclage our son Pippo* was born Jan 1st 2006. We co-sleep, and I'm still breastfeeding - apart from the usual benefits, he has allergies and eczema so doesn't do cow's milk anyway - and I've found quite some opposition to these 'odd' practices from my and partner's extended families... although it's all well-meaning of course!! :wink
We're moving back because my partner has been offered a pretty good job at a restaurant in Leiderdorp; I'm currently a SAHM and doing a part time PhD (also in creative writing - childhood memoirs)
Anyway that'll do for now - best wishes and hope to meet/speak to you all soon,
Anna xx
* any of you familiar with the Dutch toddler magazine called Pippo?? We discovered it in an Albert Heijn when our son was about six months old...
:tiphat: :fsling: :~bangel :dog: :dog: :1bftot: :fambed21
