TWIN CITIES tribal thread - May 17-23

Are you in the Twin Cities?

Well, then you have found your tribe! Despite our diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and interests, two things bond us together: living in the coldest state on earth...and the love for our children which warms us. The weekly tribe thread begins anew each saturday. Watch for the new thread on the main Minnesota/Wisconsin board.

Some of the individuals who post here meet weekly. If you are interested in attending a get together, please post your interest on the thread or send any one of us a pm. We welcome with open arms and minds the input of all parents, regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, political view, age, sex, sexual orientation, disability, etc.

Don't know if anyone else is going early, but The Midget & I will be at SG earlier than usual tomorrow and must leave before noon, gotta work the matinee.

ok, DAAM - wanna hear my good news? I got a notice today that an essay I wrote was just published at hipMama!

Great essay, Snow! I am in awe of Q - I'd never have the guts to organize something like that. Especially not at her age.

We will be at SG today, DH in tow. I may even get some knitting done... that would be cool. Hopefully G is a bit calmer this week. We definitely won't forget her pacifier this time (I did last week... she was so overstimulated she freaked out.)

Beautiful day today!

Just a quick hello for me! I am still here, finally able to walk around w/o running into boxes.

Cora has her own room at the new house and she loves it! She sleeps in her bed the entire night - I just go in to put her back to sleep as needed. I am actually getting more sleep this way b/c I am so irritated w/ nursing I always stay awake until I can pry her off anyway! Plus I don't have her pushing me off the edge of the bed all night.

Congrats on the the publication Snow!!

Unfortunately, I have no idea what's going on w/ you all b/c I did not read a single post from last week's thread. Gotta catch up!

Anyone want to get together tomororw? DH is out-of-town and I was thinking of going to the Lake Mtka. Regional Park. They have the hugest playground you've ever seen and a swimming pond, though I'm not sure how appealing that will be this early.

CONGRATS sarafam grads!!!

oliviasmama~ my dh has two photos in one of the art-a-whirl galleries :) i however am supposed to be at work so wasn't planning to go :( he'll be checking them all out though :)

obviously i did NOT make it to SG with the baby-pet info, i didn't end up taking a lunch break and had to leave early at 3:30 with a few hours of overtime that didn't need to turn into a few more hehe

crazy crazy busy week at work, i would love to go to bed and stay there all day tomorrow

snow that rocks!!! maybe at the next mamagathering YOU'LL be one of the featured guests :love

smeta that's wonderful cora likes her room! i have been contemplating turning our (very small) computer room into asher's sleepin' space, i think he'd like it better than our current setup

morning all. hope everyone had a good soverday.

smeta - glad the move went okay. we're planning on getting a twin bed for e this summer (my old bed, actually) and have her in her own room. she's in her own room now, sort of...but we'll be getting the bigger bedroom ready for her.

:crying  WEANED? well, i think e is really done this time. for the last couple months, she's only been nursing about once every day or two. before mothers day, she had gone three days without nursing. she asked mothers day morning, so that was the last time she nursed. she only asked once this week...and that was when she was half asleep and quickly changed her mind to wanting water (she's known for a while that there isn't much milk). this morning, she lifted up my t-shirt and bra and just kissed my boob and smiled at me. so, its been a week now. this is always how i wanted it to happen - gradually, naturally, and by her choice...but i'm still overwhellmed be every feeling in the book. anyway, i needed to get it off my chest (no pun intended).

oh autumn that is about how it went for Charlie except he nursed like 9 times from March 19 - May 7. He did ask once since May 8 and I distracted him cuz I decided no matter what I wanted to be done on May 8 to have three months off before the new baby. Cuz I want him to not be use to it when the new babe arrives.

We got new twin mattresses on Friday. I actually bought the bed before he was born at an Optiz parking lot sale for $35.00. It is white rod iron. Really nice and a friend of ours got us the mattresses at cost as he works for a matress company. Charlie is so excited but I am a space. We have to buy twin sheets today.

OMG last night Charlie bit my stomach right where the fat fold starts at the bottom. I swore. I can't believe it. It hurt so bad. I cried too cuz he has not bit me in 5 weeks. And after he did that he said, "Mama I need food." Actually that is what he said to me 10 mintues before he bit me. And Jerry was sweeping the sidewalk. So we went and got thai curry tofu and peapods and he ate tons and was happy. Should I listen to him for now on?????

Going to church and then the farmers market to buy a couple more veggie plants and they we are planting our garden. Excited. Then we meet my sister and family at the Peppermint Twist in Delano. Great outdoor place with a huge playground and the best raspberry shakes ever! Tomorrow night my sister takes me out for my birthday, Tuesday night Jerry and I are going out while Kelley and Buck babysit Cha and Wednesday night mama's night out. I guess I like to celebrate.

supi...i'm so happy for you that her weaning has gone so well.

lizzie...hang in there mama. i'm thinking of you.

smeta...very cool about her sleeping in her new room!

sorry this is a rushed post. i have lots of email to read, then off to make the boy lunch...followed by me being the meanest mama in the world, cuz i'm making him take a nap and he isn't a baby anymore blah blah blah blah.

Hey mommas.:) I am just loving this stretch of weather! We have been outside working on the yard and gardens; soooo much work to do! Lobo has made it a habit of coming over to the new garden patch and digging like a mad dog.:tsk The kids are very impressed by his digging skills...oh well...

It was so nice seeing many of you last night!:love Snow~ Can't believe I forgot to tell you congrats on your publication!:thumb :bow :clap May this be the first of many to come!

Lundy~ Don't know if you ever read here anymore, but it was great seeing you again! Little Za has grown so much since I saw her last!:love

Smeta~ Glad the move went well. Wow! Cora is a big girl now, too! It sure must be nice to get some well-deserved sleep at night!:D

That is so great, Mamar and KJ, how Ella and Charlie weaned themselves! I know it is bittersweet, though.:heartbeat

I hope I am not forgetting too much this time. I need to run and go through Alec's *last* week of kindergarten curriculum while Nygel is still sleeping.

Enjoy the sunshine!

So df was searching for mushrooms the other day in a park when he came across four GUINEA PIGS and a pile of food!!! :angry WTF?!? They just squished themselves against a log, completely freaked out, of course.... So we went back today, in case they hadn't been eaten by an owl or something...and there they were, still in the same spot. So df caught two of them right away, one took off, and one burrowed under a log... we chased the one for a long time - finally caught it; df dug the other one out; and so we now have four guinea pigs in our basement!!

We're not really sure what we will do with them, plus I know nothing about guinea pigs.... My first concern is that we don't have any more - so I guess we need to figure out who is who....

Any tips??

Sage and I are getting sick for the first time in her life, which bites...

On a happier note : Our flower garden is in and looking beautiful!! What a great day to do that!!

Q: Aww, those poor piggies! I can't believe someone would do that. The humane society will take them, for Maude's sake - they didn't have to abandon the poor things! As far as telling who's who, the males are pretty obviously male, if you catch my drift. I used to have guinea pigs and they were great pets. They'd start squealing when they heard the veggie peeler rattling - they knew they'd be getting treats soon. What a sweet memory.

Mamarsupial: So bittersweet that Ella's weaned. I am not looking forward to it at all, and I just pray that it's not an issue for a long time yet. On the bright side, though, it might be nice for you to have some time to have them (your breasts) to yourself before the new babe comes.

Not much new around here. Hung out laundry to dry today and knit several inches on my scarf. At this rate, it might even be done by the time winter comes around again!

Supi - wow, I know the weaning is bittersweet, but I have to admit I'm jealous!!! These little hands just are continually on the move and it drives me NUTS. Well, sort of anyway. I've tried to cut the morning nurse, but I find DS is 100 times happier and easier to get to school if does nurse first thing, so....I'd rather have him happy!

Yay! I LOVE new babies! Congratulations!

Anyway, I will probably be gone most of the week. DH has ankle surgery this Wednesday and my mom is coming tomorrow to help with the girls while I'm at the hospital. At first I thought I would have to bring them to the hospital with me and I was beginning to get worried. So I have to drive to New Ulm (half way point from South Dakota) and pick up my mom. My dad is coming on Saturday and they will stay through Sunday or Monday.

Please send dh some healing vibes!

Have a great week!

Let me regale you the journey into this world by our precious new boy . . . . . . On Saturday the 17th of May I excitedly went to the office to pick up a package I just knew would be from my home afar! And to our delight Inac and I hastily opened the box to find magic inside. We put the necklace on me at 1:00pm an strated of on a beautiful day

Daddy was working and got home at 1am . . . I seduced him quite quickly with oil secented by your gifts! And now the journey began! All through the night I could not sleep when I tried such joy was in my heart for the babe was soon to come outside! At 7am I bathed and oiled my sink perfuming the path a new life would begin.

So on the 18th, off to church we went with the birth signs quite clear, I packed all things necessary for my other men so dear. But soon we foud I could no longer stand and off to the midwife we went as the babe would command! As I walked for a while outside in the warm sun songs filled my heart and chruch bells literally rung! Giddy and tearful I knew the moment was near - my babe, my babe was soon to appear!

At 1:15 I waters were broken and into the tub till no words while contracting could be spoken. Onto the birthing chair and my husbands neck for support, then soon to the bed to push I screamed I did not want to but I did , its on the report. After six big screams and pushes the babes head was out and immediately began to shout! such a strong healthy babe a BOY what joy a Boy! so at 3:03 our son joined our world - so much for our convictions that we were having a girl!

With measurements taken and his first meal down the boy was quite big 21in 3onces and 9pounds! No name no name what should we do - go home go home with a babe six hours new!

so now us four are happily home. my MIL is coming today - i never thought I'd say this but Thank God! While Inac gets adjusted and momma finally can heal my mother in law here has so much appeal! one funny thing though - I LOVE BREASTFEEDING - MY BREASTS ARE NOW HUGE, AND STILL THEY GROW! all this is from a girl once not able to fill an A - hahahahaha i'm B/C going closer to D!

oh liz! what a beautiful story. :crying i am so happy for you. may babies are a joy. ella was also 21" and 9 lbs on may 21st...so maybe i should go through our gender neutral newborn clothes and mail you a package soon!

e had her 2year check up today. over the 95th percentile for height and weight. she's 36 1/2 inches...over 3' tall? huh? they say that you can double the height at age 2 and that will be a good indication of adult height. so, 6'1"? bill said she needs to be taller if she wants to be a point guard. ha ha. everything else was great. she did great for her blood letting (for lead and hemogloben tests). no vacs. the nurse actually chased us out into the parking lot saying we could do hep b and chicken pox (the two we skipped on purpose last time), but we said we would pass. anyway, all went really well.

Congratulations on the new Rischavy! Tears in my eyes!

E and Cha weaning, Smeta getting sleep, new babes latching on...life evolving quickly.

SNOW--I am not surprised in the least, but you are an awe inspiring mama never the less! Hurray!

We drove back in from the north shore last night. It was a very nice time...so beautiful. There were some bumpy parts, but the weather was gorgeous and the good outweighed the bumps and bruises. There is no bliss for me quite like that of bathing in the sun without a care on the smooth shore rocks of Grand Marais. I am somewhat rejuvinated. Good thing, too...the lead scrapers did not finish yesterday because of the rain and are back today with no notice. Ah, my poor contractor filled life this past year...LOL So much for my peaceful day of writing an essay for grad school...lots of pounding and scraping here. At least the kids are elsewhere today and don't have to be part of this.

Cannot wait to move!!

Got work to do, but wanted to check in. So glad I did! Such joy to be found.

You are all so beautiful. Have a gorgeous day!

Me too, for the MNO if dh gets home from work in time...
Um, where and when again? Sorry, mama brain.

Congrats on the new little one! Loved the birth story.
Brown- you're right so many changes, all the little ones getting bigger by the day. Makes me want to snuggle my girls close and keep them small. Of course, it doesn't work but i'm game to try.lol

Snow- you rock, mama. Tell me where to read your work and I'm there!

DAAM- Got another weigh/measure this week...I wonder how much less there is of me? I getting into this....and the way dh looks at me doesn't hurt either.lol

DAAM- Skye pulled the tape before Buffy came on last week...Now i'm trying frantically to download it but I have no clue what I'm doing. Can we say Helen needs computer classes? BTW buffy is my guilty pleasure, cheesy I know.

DAAM- Dog training starting to show slightly. WOOHOO! now when I say 'kennel' they actually GO THERE! I am the woman! And dh said if he can't train I probably wouldn't be able to. BWHAHAAHA! wife-1 hubby-0

Went to the dr. for this strange bump on my where I had ingrown nails removed and was referred back to the foot dr. My doc said' I'm not monkeying around with your foot.' Ah, another summer in the oh so stylish velcro shoes.... And an educated guess is also saying more pain.ggrrr.

Oh, Kj about the washer...i'd just run an empty cycle with hot, hot water and maybe a little bleach.

lizR--beautiful to read and imagine! so glad for you and your boys and man!

MNO mommas--have a great time! wish i could be there, but alas, not this time...and esp w/ so many mommas going that i haven't seen in sooooo long...

jess--glad you had a good UpNorth weekend! it is so nice how even a minor getaway can be so refreshing. and let me know what you need for your move. i know you typed up and sent out that big email, but this brain needs some refreshing. and i will have the kids in tow that saturday, so it can't be anything to brawn-needing...

frost advisory, eek! of course, now that all my seeds are sprouting...peas, beans, lettuce, spinach, carrots...hope i can scrounge up some covers. perhaps just some sheets, huh?!

DAAM--finished The Blue Shoe. snow--i did like it, esp as i really related to the mattie. but it isn't my fav anne lammott book. nad your views? now i gotta find a new bedtime book. but DH and kids gave me some good ones for mommas' day--Women Warriors and Mother Nature, although both a bit heavier than my preferred bedtime literature...

DAAM--going for an HOUR massage thursday, a moms' day gift from DH, bro, SIL and BIL. i have never had an HOUR massage, let alone a professional one! work this weary body.

HI all!

Happy B-day KJ!

Hope you ladies have a great night out tomorrow. I have to babysit :( for the nanny kids. Dh is supposed to take Cora, so hopefully that will make it easier! I hate doing bedtime/naptime with her and them - too much stress for me.

Congrats Lizzie! Sounds like it was a beautiful birth-day!

Autumn - wow, it's hard to believe she's weaned! Hugs to you!

Ok. So the night sleeping is going better, but I'm having a heck of a time getting Cora to sleep in the first place. The quickest it's happened in the last couple weeks was 45 minutes. It's usually 1-1 1/2 hours though. Argh! This has gotta change, there's no way I'm going to be able to lay down with her for an hour or two with a newborn here too!

Roseanne? WTF? I demand a recount!

Let's hope the Rockstar one is better...

Not really. Macy Gray first, then when I changed some things, Sade. Where are the cool Indie rocker chicks? I always fancied myself one of them, not Ms. Top 40 or Ms. Smooth Jazz. Oh, well.

How about this: Which Muppet are You? (http://quizilla.com/users/SummerSCSA/quizzes/Which%20Muppet%20are%20You%3F/)

Quaniliaz, I feel real bad. Just reread some of yesterday and realized you asked for more info. Did anyone get it to you? I am so sorry!!! We would have loved to have you join us. I just ate the head off my loon, thanks summerlover! I may have to find more after I finish this post.

Kathy, your TV Mom is Lorelai Gilmore

You are Lorelai Gilmore from Gilmore Girls. A traditional mama you aren't, but that doesn't mean you don't love your kids or aren't great in this role. You like to put a modern twist on things — no need to become your mother, after all — although sometimes you might wonder if that wouldn't be all bad.

Kathy, your inner rock star is Celine Dion!

Stand up tall, lady; the rock star part of you is all Celine. Mature, romantic, versatile—your rise to success has the world charmed to pieces. People love to love you.

You are Kermit the Frog!! You are loyal to your friends and don't really know how to say No. No matter what you were doing, you would drop it in a second if a loved one was in trouble. You are also a born star. Everyone loves you!

Sade

Ooooh lady, you've got it going on. The rock star part of you is all Sade. Sleek, sexy, and untouchable, you are the ultimate smooth operator. People tune in to you whenever they want to unwind and get into that sexy mood. You know how to keep cool and keep a low profile. And you're never one to unveil your mystique by making too many appearances. By staying true to your talent and staying out of the spotlight, you've become as rare and welcome as love's first blush at sunset. The fans are totally fascinated, so go ahead and use it. Strut your inner Sade.

okay, this is the last test i'm doing toay! this one is downright creepy its so accurate. i'm actually skipping yoga tonight to go to the co-op to buy organic veggies! do DO do dooo, do DO do dooo.

what is your aura? (http://www.emode.com/emode/tests/aura.jsp)

We don't need a psychic to tell us that you're giving off a Emerald vibe. Your bright, refreshing, grass-green aura tells us that you're a relaxed person with a laid-back attitude. Into living a healthy lifestyle ? from eating right to trying yoga and aromatherapy ? you're down-to-earth and always easy-going. You bring calm and peace with you wherever you go. A bit of a flower child, you're as unpretentious and open-minded as they come. Everyone is invited to your party. Chances are you have quite the green thumb, too, as well as a knack for healing people ? both emotionally and physically. Sensitive and compassionate, you're as reliable as the earth and as natural as herbal tea and organic vegetables.

Wow, Autumn! That is you! So, does this one sound like me? Not sure...

We don't need a psychic to tell us that you're giving off a Turquoise vibe. Turquoise types are often intelligent, energetic leaders. Vibrant and dynamic, you take center stage wherever you go; people are naturally drawn in by your charismatic nature. You love to learn, and you excel at remembering facts and figures. More than likely, you're a go-getter with your eyes on the prize. Respect and influence tend to come to you easily, but that doesn't mean you sit around waiting for them. What fun is achieving something if getting there isn't a challenge? Always pushing your limits, you'd be a natural on Survivor — a healthy competitive instinct and a willingness to take risks means you usually reach your goals. You like to look, feel, and act your best; if all those ducks are in a row, nothing's gonna get in your way.

Groovy, baby! Your aura is a bright, shiny Gold — which means you're a kid at heart with a happy, generous nature. We don't need a psychic to tell us that you're giving off a Gold vibe. You couldn't ask for a better color — a glistening gold aura is as good as it gets. A lively blend of yellow and orange, gold people are happy, playful, energetic, sensitive, and generous. Always up for adventure, you'd give a friend in need the shirt off your back. You're spiritual, too — all those halos in old paintings aren't colored gold by coincidence. Almost childlike in the carefree, joyful way you live your life, you're popular and outgoing with your large circle of friends. Chances are you're so full of light and energy that you sometimes find it hard to sit still and chill out. Instead, you're constantly looking for excitement, no matter how risky or impulsive the occasion. Happy-go-lucky and always laughing, you truly are as good as gold.

Katie part of it is you. Your ducks are in a row but I think you are pretty laid back.

edited to add~ oh autumn you have no idea what you've unleashed LOL ~

i took a TON of these a couple years ago with one of my friends and saved all the first results~ haven't looked at them since so they're cracking me up

especially this one: your inner rock star is Britney Spears! GACK

Feel it, sweetheart; the rock star in you is all Britney—the envy of cheerleaders everywhere. One part girl next door, one part naughty sex kitten, you're definitely not as innocent as you look. ~~ when i took it as a guy it said beck. beck and britney spears are not equal, IMO hehe

Emerald aura

haven't done the muppet one yet

in college my friends and i wrote this theory that the type of coffee drink people buy correlates to behavior and personality.
the coffee test (http://www.emode.com/emode/tests/coffee.jsp) on emode is so alike what we wrote it's almost creepy (which really means our theory wasn't very clever LOL) ~ here's my result:
Dark, strong, genuine. Is that you or your coffee? To the casual observer, there's really no difference. Straightforward and uncomplicated, your coffee-style says that you approach daily tasks and the world at large with realistic expectations and a no-nonsense attitude. You don't sugarcoat things, and you definitely don't beat around the bush. Bells and whistles aren't your style. You take comfort in routine, and you might get a little flustered when big change looms on the horizon. You're reliable and dependable. If someone had to pick an advisor or confidant based solely on his/her coffee preference, you would be at the top of the list. Most likely, you value truth and sincerity above all and lead a reflective life.

we also had a theory based on how people ate grapefruit LOL

bwahaha your perfect car (http://www.emode.com/tests/car/) What do you care if your exhaust pipe drags a little on the pavement or if it takes a few tries to wheeze that motor to life in the morning? The car for you is a Beater, since you don't have time to worry about the quality of your wheels. We're thinking a 1970 Dodge Dart or a 1974 Chevy Nova

heehee
are you evil? (http://www.emode.com/emode/tests/evil.jsp)
i'm sorta evil

what breed of dog are you? (http://www.emode.com/dog/)
i'm a bernese mountain dog... great, i'm going to die of cancer before i'm 8 LOL

ok i must stop!

You funny Mamas~

I'm Marge Simpson and Macy Gray and Kermit....

Great to see the mamas that were there last night~missed mama's that were not!

I have a VIOLET aura....

We don't need a psychic to tell us that you're giving off a Violet vibe. An amethyst-colored aura is the trademark of compassionate, empathetic people with arms big enough to hug the whole planet. If you had your way, you'd be teaching the world to sing in perfect harmony (and maybe even buying them a Coke) or heading to a third-world country with the Peace Corps. Spiritual and caring, you're a true music lover and probably committed to at least two or three causes. Your heart is so tender that it bleeds when you hear about any pain and suffering. That's why you're always working toward change, whether it's improving your workplace or rallying for global peace. You've got your sights set on lofty goals and, because you're such a dreamer, you might occasionally overlook the details when you're on one of your missions. But you're sophisticated and worldly enough to know how to dig in and make a difference where it counts. Strong-willed and kindhearted, people with a Violet aura are the world's activists.

Uhm, perhaps that explains my addiction to activism? :blush

My coffee style:
The Sophisticate
Tall, dark, and refined. Is that you or your coffee? To the casual observer, there's really no difference. How you take your coffee provides people with a small window into your personality...

Your coffee says that you most likely approach life with a keen eye for beauty and that you stroll through your day with unmatched grace and class.

That one doesn't seem to match me. Grace and Class? Nah...

Okay fine.

What Color Is Your Aura?

We don't need a psychic to tell us that you're giving off a Crimson vibe. Your ruby-red aura reveals your passionate, sensual nature — you're all about earthly pleasure. Whether you're getting a great massage or having a sumptuous dinner, you delight in experiences that fully engage your senses. (Crimson is, after all, the color of roses, wine, and velvet.) That's why it's the material things that really float your boat. If you can taste it, touch it, smell it, or see it right here, right now, you're all over it. After all, you're firmly rooted in reality, preferring to live in the present rather than the future. And you probably have a quick temper, too — most folks with red auras do. But you cool down quickly, turning your outspoken energy and stamina to projects with fast, concrete results. A hot-blooded go-getter like you is always in favor of instant gratification.

I simply will not share my inner rock star...not.

OMG, you are right Cattrane. The coffee test is the most accurate.
BTW, did you know the ya ya sisterhood test gives you a different answer every time you do the test?

The Go-getter

Bold, energetic, and always ready. Is that you or your coffee? To the casual observer, there's really no difference.

For you, coffee is a tool. Your drinking style labels you as a go-getter. A non-stop hard worker. Coffee gives you the jump-start you need in the morning and keeps you going throughout the day. Your fellow coffee drinkers most likely see you as resourceful, energetic, and tireless. You are always on. If a job needs to get done, you're just the type to make it happen. Your coffee style says that you're very flexible and that you adapt well to change. In fact, you require a lot of variety in your life. You probably juggle many tasks at once or move quickly from one task to the next. You are driven by your desire to accomplish many things, and sometimes it might seem like there isn't enough time in the day. Creative, quick and witty, you grab hold of life with both hands and hang on for the ride.

The Sophisticate
Tall, dark, and refined. Is that you or your coffee? To the casual observer, there's really no difference. How you take your coffee provides people with a small window into your personality. Here's what one might see...

Your coffee style reflects an urban cool and sophistication that intrigues most of the coffee drinkers in the shop. Where are you from? What do you do? How do you know so much about coffee? They're just dying to find out. As you reach across the counter for your signature brew, the people around you construct their own story about your identity. The person in line behind you thinks that your name could be Claude or Claudette. For all she knows, you take long lunches and shop at high-class boutiques. Outside the coffee shop, you could be anything. Inside, you're a world traveler with expensive tastes and an inventive style. You demand a perfect cup and will accept nothing but the best. Your coffee says that you most likely approach life with a keen eye for beauty and that you stroll through your day with unmatched grace and class.

Ok, let's see I'm

Claire Huxtable-
You want good kids, but you also want them to be successful, smart individuals who can speak their minds — as long as they do so respectfully. While you enjoy being the kind of mom that your kids can come to with a problem, you are not afraid to set them straight when they're acting badly. When it comes to discipline, you try treat your kids like adults, talking calmly and coolly. And that's ultimately why they're going to grow up with such unwavering respect for you — as both a mother and a successful person

And I'm Kermy the Frog!
My aura is-
We don't need a psychic to tell us that you're giving off a Sapphire vibe. People with blue auras feel everything strongly — you tend to get a little emotional at the drop of a hat. You're also deeply spiritual and introspective. Matters of the heart, mind, and soul are important to you, and your waters run as deep as the ocean. Nurturing by nature, you're likely a loving, supportive caretaker. That's why friends, family, and co-workers adore you. They know you're a good listener and always have great advice and a shoulder for them to cry on. In fact, if we had to find a fault, it's that you can be a tad too self-sacrificing. Remember that it's okay to say no sometimes. You forgive everyone else their weaknesses, so go ahead and forgive yourself for a little well-deserved selfishness. Indulge your creative side and do something artsy, or just take a break from being the world's counselor. You'll come back refreshed and ready for more.

For the coffee test I'm a go- getter..

I'm also slightly evil...tell me something I don't know.lol

The car is a station wagon and the dog is a German Shepherd( WTF! I can't be something little and cuddly! I'm really the Taco Bell dog, I swear!!)

might take Willow to the American Baby casting call tomorrow....i'm still pondering. Of course, i'd have to leave before the Goddess is even up but Skye really wants to take Willow.

YUK but sounds like me!

Chihuahua

No bones about it, you're an energetic, devoted Chihuahua. For your breed, size definitely doesn't matter. After all, sometimes the best things (diamonds, car keys, Godiva truffles) come in small packages. Honest and straightforward, you're never afraid to speak up for what you believe in, especially if it's a cause near and dear to your heart. Having such a passionate personality can come with a few drawbacks, though. You can be moody at times, and people often find it hard to live up to your high standards. But once you make a friend, it's for life. Saucy and intense, your energy and unfailing loyalty make you a great companion. Woof!

Hey all, please keep Maria in your continued thoughts and prayers. After 6 weeks of radiation. She went back to work and her doctor EMAILED her on Monday telling her that her MRI was abonormal. Can you believe emailed? Go figure. So glad some of you could meet her on Wednesday. She is such a wonderful woman.

daily all about me: ex's mother called today to tell me that I am hurting my son and her family with my "perfectionism" and "superior attitude". She says I need to give my kiddo's dad a break (or my life?). She wanted a four day overnights included camping trip with his father and thier family...starting *today*. No notice. He's only had a few overnights, never consecutively and they have not gone well to say the least. Oh, and she also demanded to know when I changed my religion (uh, which I didn't...lol). Betcha wish you were me!!! Sheesh! If nothing else, she got a little lesson on religious tolerance in return. I got on my soap box (and you know what? I don't like it up there). When I was done...my cordless was out of battery...so I got to get out of hanging up on her and blame the phone. :clap
