I can only do weekends, though, but any location is fine. We have a trip scheduled early april, but other than that, most weekends are wide open.

I heard that next week is a holiday week for some, so I thought I would just invite you all to my house, umm, TUESDAY morning....I know, that is crazy last minute...or FRIDAY morning.

I live in Den Haag, 7 blocks from the Voorburg station.

Yes, my friends are organizing an AP family meet-up. There will be speakers. I believe that Beatrijs Smulders will be speaking, as will the woman who heads up the attachment parenting organization in Europe. I don't know the time yet, but it will be on the afternoon of March 25th at the ABC Treehouse in the center of Amsterdam. I believe there will be a small cost, maybe 5 Euros or something. I hope lots of you will be able to make it.

We are going out of town for a few weeks starting tomorrow, so I'll update you all with the details of this when we get back.

The event on the 25th sounds great, but I'm not convinced my hubby will want to go there on his birthday - or worse, have me go there with the kiddos on his birthday... I'm sure it'll be good tho, I actually did a few home deliveries with Beatrijs Smulders waaayyy back in med school, and loved her!

Aw, Gabry! How unfortunate that we picked a weekend date on your man's birthday! By all means, pick a weekend date...I will meet up, anyway.

ABOUT FRIDAY,
around 10ish, I will have food (if anyone strongly dislikes curry smell/taste, let me know). Depending on the weather we can stay in or go out.

My dd has it in her head that it's a birthday party, so I am going to make banana bread and decorate it like a cake, and we may, um, sing once or twice. It can be belated for Anneke, or is there any other birthdays to celebrate?

I will PM everyone my address and train info by tomorrow.

Anyways, for a later date, here are some options:

By the way, I'd be happy to show everyone around in Antwerp. There is a train from Amsterdam through Rotterdam that stops here. Don't know if you've been, but it's definitely worth a visit. On sundays there is a large market called the "Vogeltjesmarkt" which is kind of neat. Even my small town has a great cafe + playground and a nice park.
But, I'll be happy to go just about anywhere else... I know of a very nice "kinderboerderij" in Culemborg, and I know there are lots of those in other places too.

Gabry, I would love to come out your way and March 17/18 or April 21/22 works for me. Do you want to make a separate thread for an invite and see if others want to go, too? Were you in med school here? and are you an MD now? and did you work in the states, too? Just being curious...I am an RN, but I don't work here in the Netherlands. I would be very interested to hear the differences between the countries' differences/similarities in medical practices.

Irishmommy, are you comming for a visit? I am sure we could arrange a meet-up, even just to take you around! Let us know.

Yes, I'm an MD, used to work in a Community Health Center in the US, now work for a pharmaceutical company. Dh and I are working on getting our diploma's / specialty training recognized here.
Re. differences in health care system; we'll have tons to chat about!
