Thought I would do another roll call. Are there any others out there? We just moved to Rome six months ago and are living la bella vita. I have been taking three hours of Italian every day and have made it all the way to the congiunctivo! DD is in an asilo nido and seems to understand what is going on but does not say much there yet.
Others?

Hi Ilaria,

Well, I don't think there are too many of us and what few there are have already spoken up on the other thread, but here goes anyway. I would love to hear from anyone in the Rome area.

I'm here too. We are in Ancona. We've got one dd and another one on the way. My dd is in scuola materna and I've been teaching English for about 8 and a half years. I'll try to start checking this thread more often. I saw that there wasn't much activity, so i didn't check it that often.

Ciao!!
Peggy

I'm actually in Italy now (for a month)...thought I'd update my location! :)

If you are in Northern Italy or want to take a road trip to Milan, this is what's going on on Sunday for the 77th anniversary of the Planetarium:

Would love to! Probably not this year, but next summer, when my husband comes too...I want to take the kids to Rome, as they've never been! (and I haven't been in YEARS!)

Do you have a Gusella in Rome? They carry wonderful children's clothing.
(Was reading your blog) :)

Oh, and I never got anything but positive comments about BFing here! And I nursed my ds till 25 mos, in public, on the beach, while obviously pregnant with dd!

Hi Caroline,
I'm a Mamma in Roma.
I lived all my life in the San Francisco Bay Area until I came to Roma in 2000 to sing in an opera here. It was then that I met a handsome, kind, motorcycle driving, Roman named Fabio :love and I've been here ever since. We had our first bimba in February.:love:throb:love

I'm looking forward to knowing you and other MDC mamma's in Roma too!

Hi Alexa,
Maybe you and Linda and me should get together for coffee in January.

Are you a member of AWAR?

Barely Italy.

Kids are in the schools here, but we are leaning heavily to switching to the Steiner school next year. I thought I could handle the whole "color within the lines" mentality, but it's been tougher on us than I thought.

But we're here for better and worse!
