Anyone else not sleeping well....actually, that isn't quite right....it's not that I'm not sleeping well, it's that I don't think my sleep is deep enough and I just don't feel rested. I feel like I got 4 hours of sleep at the most even though I got 8 hrs...broken up by 2 bathroom breaks.
This is the 3rd night in a row that I just haven't felt like I got enough sleep. and now this morning I woke up with the worst m/s I've had so far. I'm shaky and making tons of trips to the bathroom...
Anyone else having this sleeping problem? Any ideas of how to make my sleep better?

My skin is very sensitive when I'm pregnant (this relates, I swear) and sometimes it feels like the sheets are too rough against my skin and I can't fall asleep. I have to use a ton of moisturizer all over before bed, and then really consciously try to relax as much as I can and NOT roll over 235425 times back and forth, because that makes it worse. We use really nice sheets too, they're like 600 thread count, we got them for a wedding present! Anyway, YES, I feel like I'm not getting deep sleep. And I'm totally exhausted.

I tend to have one good night and a few bad nights. Mine is due to congestion...I always get coongestion in early pregnancy.
i normally sleep very well, so this is aggravating.

i normally always have very bad insomnia and have had to cut way back on meds i take for it. i have found taking magnesium and calcium supplements are helping me sleep a bit better but overall i am having restless sleep. i keep thinking about the baby and i have to pee so much more often i never had to pee in the middle of the night but now i wake up every single night at least once to pee ad then it seems to take at least an hour to fall back to sleep
last night i got probably 7 hours of sleep so i feel really well rested today lately it has been more like 3 to 5 hours

I was awake and tossing and turning so much last night that I actually woke Dh twice. On top of the lack of a good sleep Ive been SO hot that I cant get comfortable.

I have the window wide open, the fan on...I get really warm!!! I'm just getting up "earlier" to try to take advantage of some "feeling awake" time...by 3:00 I"m wiped out!

NOt only am I restless, but I've been dreaming about birth defects for the past two nights. Sunday night it was spina bifida - I had to take care of a girl (Samantha) who had spina bifida and was really tiny for her age. Last night, it was children without limbs (a la Thalidomide) or, in a couple of cases, without bodies (for some reason, this wasn't weird or metaphysical or anything, they just didn't have bodies, although one had really long, skinny legs). And some boys with Chordee who came in near the end.
This all does make sense in the scheme of my life - even without being pg. I just taught a class on teratogens (including Thalidomide) yesterday, and last night while I was going to sleep, DH & I were watching "Medical Mystery Diagnosis" (or something like that)!

Yes, I have to get up to pee, then it's hard to get back to sleep, and my hips get sore too. M wakes to nurse, I think more often now that I have less milk, and D often wakes at night because he has to pee, but he tries to just get right in bed with us, and I wake up enough to tell him to pee first, and then the bathroom light is on, and then he comes to bed and asks for a pillow (he sleeps across the foot of the bed), and then my cat often comes in then too because D leaves the door open, and she wants to come sleep on our heads, so I have to keep on shifting her down to my legs... She was super purring the other night while sleeping on my legs, and I was dreaming that it was D I could feel breathing and he had this horrible chest congestion. :lol Dh gets up for work at about 6 am, and sometimes I get back to sleep after that, but lately, that's it, I have to get up and pee and eat. Also I have to wake up enough to kick dh out of bed because he sleeps through almost everything and will hit the snooze button for an hour. On both alarm clocks. :p

Just a suggestion as I get congestion during pregnancies too, try the Breathe Rite strips (or the much cheaper and equally good Target brand). They really do work.
