i know it i really early but one reason i am so happy to be expecting in October is because i love Halloween. it has always been my favorite holiday. so i am already pondering making at least one tiny costume for the baby! i am thinking a dinosaur or something. pretty much i would just knit a green sweater with some orange triangle things down the back and maybe along the sleeves. now i normally start planning my Halloween costumes about this early anyway so this is kinda normal for me. is anyone else already thinking about next Halloween? am i a complete freak?

I haven't really started thinking about this yet- but I wanted to say that your idea of the little knitted dino outfit is sooooo cute! I love it.

My mom made a little pumpkin hat and a little bib-like thing to go with it for my niece (a Sept. baby, almost 12 years ago). So when DS (also a Sept. baby, but an older one and MUCH bigger one) was born, we borrowed that and it it barely fit him, but that's what he wore. Think we'll do the same for this little one :) My mom used to make the best costumes for my nieces and nephew, so I have those to borrow -- she really doesn't make them anymore, now that they sell so many in the stores, apparently it would cost her more to make what they sell now :(

I was just thinking about this... I LOVE halloween, and my mom makes the kids costumes every year, she is an incredible seamstress.
One year a friend of mine had her newborn boy as a football. :lol
Maybe if it's a girl, a piece of bubblegum?
I'll definitely be thinking about this. I'm due in the middle-ish of Oct and last time I had dd on her due date, so I'll probably have a 2 week old.

D was born on Hallowe'en. In the hospital, they give little hats with a pink pom pom for a girl, blue for a boy. On Hallowe'en, they gave the babies a hat with a black-and-orange pom pom. D thinks it's great.
in addition to trick o treating, we also attend several All Saints Day (November 1st) parties. If I can get motivated, I may just swaddle the baby and put him/her in a little Moses basket and he can be baby Moses. I won't be sending him down the river, though.
