Last night, I noticed a little pain in my incision area. I am five months pregnant and would rather have a vbac than another Cbirth. Have you had incision pain during pregnancy and then gone on to have a vbac? I don't want to mention it to my doctor just yet (though I most likely will) because she may jump the gun and say I should have another Cbirth. Thanks.

According to ICAN those pains are just adhesions breaking apart from the stretching--nothing dangerous, and not a sign of internal tearing or ripping. You might want to join the ICAN mailing list for more details. It's definitely NOT a reason for another c/s!!!!!!! :D

How does ICAN know this?

hi Julie. I had some pain in the incision area throughout my second pregnancy. I did, unfortunately go on to have a second c/s, but it was not due to this. I talked to the doctor about it, and she said that it was completely normal and would not be a problem to consider when having a VBAC.

Good luck to you.

Five years ago I gave birth via c-sec. Two years ago I had a vaginal birth (at home). I also had a certain amount of pain and discomfort in the area of my scar during the last pregnancy. In fact as I type this my incision is still uncomfortable although it is no longer constant as it was for the first nine months.

My OB told me that it was the scar tissue stretching...that it has nerve endings and that it is sensitive.

I DEFINITELY had pain in mine - a lot, actually. It was SO uncomfortable - especially once she started kicking. :(

But, we went on to have a VERY good VBAC experience with no rupture or any problems whatsoever!
