HI! We've been here just over one year, but are currently living in NW Houston. We are moving to the Sugar Land area and I am in the process of interviewing pediatricians as # 2 is due in less than 4 weeks.

Any recommendations would be appreciated. THANKS!

Hi-

I'm over in the Meyerland/Westbury area. Not too far from Sugarland. :) We moved down to this side of Houston from Katy/290 area about 15 months ago. We still drive up to our Ped up at 290 & Hwy6 because we like him so much. It's worth the drive for us, it really only takes about 25-30 minutes with the freeways. It would take us almost that long to go to a Ped in the general area on the surface streets with the traffic.

Sorry I can't recommend a Ped in the Sugarland area for you. Welcome to the area though. :) And good luck with #2, I just had our second child 12 weeks ago. (I use to live in NW Houston too I've lived all over Houston :LOL. In fact both my children were born at Houston NW Hospital at FM1960 & Red Oak.)

Thanks for the reply.

When we first moved here, DS was 9 months old and all the doctors I called from recommendations - none were taking new patients. No one would do interviews if I wasn't pregnant. I had to choose from the doctors who were accepting (which were basically the newest ones in the practice). We are with a Texas Children's Hospital Group, but I'm just not thrilled. Now that we are moving across town (1 hour from this home), I'm taking advantage of being able to interview while pregnant every doctor that is recommended.

We recently moved to Sugar Land as well. I received recommendations for pediatricians in this area from members of La Leche League. Several that I called were not accepting new patients. Dr. Laurie Molina with Texas Gulf Coast Medical Group is accepting new patients. She is located adjacent to Methodist Hospital off of Sweetwater Blvd. I was less than impressed with the front office staff at our first visit. They seemed a little put out that they would have to contact our old pediatrician for my kids records. But I really liked Dr. Molina. I never felt rushed during our appointment and she offered a lot of information and asked a lot of questions. Her nurse Tina was excellent with my kids as well. I've been to her office 3 x's now and I would highly recommend her to other moms. She has young children of her own and is very attentive. The front office staff is still marginal but a small sacrifice for a great doctor.

Thanks! I had already done a few interviews and we chose someone Friday - as we get closer and closer. I thought I was going into labor this weekend - so I was glad we found someone we like.

Thanks for your reply

I go to the pediatricians of sugarland. They are with the Texas Childrens hospital group. Located at Williams Trace near highway six. My sons doctor is Dr. Morgan. I like them because they are very supportive of breastfeeding and they seem to be ap sensitive. I dont know their position on no-vac.

Their number is 281-491-3636

Who did you end up going with.
Right now we see Bishop, bryant, and dickerson.
They are on Hwy 6 across from the police station.
They are great and the nurses are wonderfull. That was a big deal for me since most of our time is spent with the nurses either in the office or on the phone.
By the way welcome to Sugarland.
