Attention, Sewing Mamas!
I'm looking for someone who would be interested in making me a fabric backpack. I would like something in lightweight canvas or something similar, with a drawstring at the top and a flap over that with a sport buckle. I need a couple of zippered inside pockets and adjustable shoulder straps. I'll pay, trade, barter ... Anyone interested?

Do you have a pattern? I don't think I'm talented enough at sewing yet to make it, but good luck to you.

Wish I did have a pattern. I've had countless people tell me "should be easy for someone who sews," but can't find anyone who would actually tackle it ... :(

We're living overseas until the end of June and I don't have a sewing machine with me, otherwise I'd consider it. If you still haven't found anyone by then, let me know and I might be able to.

there is a mamma there who makes beautiful purses, you might see if she can do you a backpack as well.

Thanks for the ideas! When you're stuck carrying this thing around with you for years on end, you'd kinda like it to be something you like looking at and using ... I shall keep these in mind!

Sorry I don't sew very well so I'm not help there. But it occured to me that if you've got an old back pack that is worn out, you could always cut it up & use it to cut a pattern off or you could make one out of paper & then calico ( without all the strenghtening in the seams ) to test the pattern.
