Disabling Email Notification

When you registered you were given many options to chose from. One of them was to receive email notification of any replies to threads you post to. If you want to disable this entirely you must go to your usercp and click on Edit options. Scroll through the list until you find the email notification option. Change it from "yes" to "no".

You will have to unsubscribe from all the threads that you are already subscribed to since changing your setting will take effect on all future threads and not those you've posted to in the past. In your user cp you'll find all the forums and threads that you are currently subscribed to. Click on the unsubscribe button of each one to unsubscribe from them.

Alternatively you can click on the "unsubscribe from this thread" URL that you receive in the email notifications themselves. There is an option within the emails to unsubscribe from the particular thread and another to unsubscribe from all threads.

If you want to receive notification of replies to some threads but not others you have that choice in the reply window when you type up a post. Click or unclick the email notification that is within the options section beneath the text window.

I have always had "no" checked for email notification -- I just went and double-checked. Yet I get the emails for every thread I subscribe to. I like to subscribe so I can operate from my control panel. Is there no way to subscribe to threads but NOT get email?

"Subscribing" to a thread doesn't send email notifications. It merely places it prominently in your usercp. But something must be amiss in your case. I don't know what the problem could be. I can access your account if you'd like and fiddle around a bit. If you want me to do that just let me know.

so how come since i canceled my email notification, i never show as subscribed to any threads on my cp? i used to automatically be subscribed to any thread i posted in. i liked it that way, just not the email part. (if i sound funny its because i should be sleeping.)
