I feel silly for asking this, but having never been pregnant before... when you start feeling movement, where does it seem to be located? I'm 16 weeks, and I feel something like popcorn/bubbles, but really low in my pelvis. It's hard to pinpoint exactly, but it seems like it can't be much higher than my vaginal canal, or right about there. Could the uterus/baby be located such that what I'm feeling is movement, even though it's not where I was expecting? I suppose I alway thought I'd feel it higher, even though of course my uterus isn't very high yet. I can't figure out what else I could be feeling, and it's in the same place every time, just so low...

Thanks for any input!
Julie

I never really felt movement that low, but I've had friends who have described their baby's movements like you do. I'm sure it's just the baby dancing around on the bottom of your uterus. :D

Your describing what I remember feeling around 16 weeks. Cool, huh!

It really depends on the position of the baby and where the placenta is located. The placenta will soften the blow so to speak, and you'll be less likely to feel it there.

I think what you're feeling can definitely be the baby moving, and it probably is! With my ds I wasn't sure if his first movements were actual movements or if I just had gas. They were very low in the pelvis. With my current pregnancy I was able to tell right away.

As the baby grows bigger and moves around you'll start feeling movement all over the place. Sometimes I feel like the movement is right down by my...er...anus. Sorry if that's too much information! Sometimes the movement is low in the pelvis. Sometimes the movement is high up, near my ribcage.

Enjoy your pregnancy!

...I wanted add one more thing...

When I first started feeling movement it was like something 'rolled' in there, down low, right above my bladder. It was such an unusual sensation! The next few times I felt early movement they were the little popcorn kicks up against my full bladder. :D

What you're describing is exactly how I felt the first movements with dd. :D
