Ok, back with another question. This is pregnancy #4 and it is just weird to me!
I am at 13 weeks gestation. Up until last week I could not feel the fundus at all. Then a few days ago, I was lying in bed and felt a huge lump, almost up to my navel and slightly to the left. It was about the size of a grapefruit, and did not extend down to the pelvis.
Then a few hours later is was gone.
The next night it was back, still high, but in the middle.
Most of the time I cannot feel a thing. Then suddenly there is this lump.
There is nothing near my pelvic bone, just this "floating", very well-defined lump. Is this the fundus? If so what is it doing THERE? And why can i only find it some of the time?
WTH is going on here?

It does float, and sometimes if you have a toning contraction you'll be able to feel it more easily than other times. At 15 weeks, I still am on and off with feeling it. Though I can Always feel it in the morning when my bladder is full(the bladder will push it up), after an orgasm I can also always feel it, even though it's usually pretty low down when I have them.

Wow! I also am finding this area that seems like it's uterine in nature but has been slightly to the right. Now my MW said about 10 days ago that she felt like my uterus was 16wks along (I was 11wks), and suspects fibroids. I do feel those contractions in that area, though, so it's really weird to me. I'm pretty sure the baby is still pretty low (thought I felt it the other day ... TMI.. quite low along with some post-bd ctxs) but I've definitely felt the weird "bump." I see my MW again on Thursday so hoping to find out more then!
