Uterine width important??

Does the width of your uterus matter when it comes to measurements and dating, etc.? Never really thought about it, but would it be possible for you to measure smaller than you really are (fundal), if your uterus is growing wider if the baby is positioned in that way?

Width seems to matter one in one way -- if it's wider, suspect twins. :)
