OK, ladies, we have to escape this oppressive heat of SE new mexico. We went to Ruidoso for the day, and it was wonderful!! But, all the "things to do" in that area occur off the mountains where it is like death. We went to White Sands as well. We had planned to spend some time there, and went at five in the evening, planning to stay and watch sunset. Figured by 5, it would be cooler. :firedevil It was 98 degrees!! we all took about two tumbles down the dunes, crouched in the shade of the picnic shelter(the shade did not cover the table at all) filled out the boys junior ranger stuff, and left!!

So, we want to go up north next weekend. What is a good campsite? We want to be about 7,500-8,500 feet, on a good, paved, NON-SCARY road, quiet campground,(but not too quiet, I do want a few people there), with lots and lots of trees. Flush toilets are ideal, but there has to at least be vaulted, and we want to spend less than $15 a night. We would like to be within 15 miles of either Santa Fe, or Taos, although we would be open to being nearer to some of the pueblos, or Chimayo. We also want to be somewhere that will be in the 40s or 50s at night. So, where should we go? :)
