hi there,

i use nappies that i got from a friend of mine but need to buy new ones soon.
have u got some good advice on which ones to buy?I now use the kind of nappies that you have to fold in three (organic material, she told me), and a cover of Bambino, MIO.
I use a disposable layer with these.

Iwouldnt it be better (environmental-wise) if i could use something without the disposable layer? or dousn't that exist? I don't want DS to ne all wet all the time so now I do use them.

and i don't have a balcony or garden in amsterdam so i'd have to dry them in the house or use the dryer machine but i prefer not to do that. so the AIO's are 2 thick for me.

And what do you wash them with?

Angela

As far as I'm aware, the cloth diaper choices here aren't terribly varied. I got my diapers in the US. I personally use MotherEase one-size diapers and MotherEase AirFlow covers. I'm very happy with both of these. We use flushable poop liners with these. These are just paper-thin sheets (similar to fabric softener dryer sheets) that you wash with the diapers if there's no poop, or flush if there is. They catch at least 90% of the poop, often 100%.

We wash and dry in machines. This is Amsterdam, and one must be realistic. I think it would be quite hard to stick to 100% cloth if you had to rely on good weather to get your diapers dry.

We use Ecover powder to wash.

If you're interested in ordering new diapers, a visit to the diapering forum is a must. Once you get back, you are, of course, welcome to check out my diapers in person.
