Here I Am!

[Friday13th]

I've been lurking on MDC for a long time and just got a BFP about 2 1/2 hours ago! This is our first child and we've been sort of but not really trying for a month now.
My husband is out, I've called everyone I know and here I am.
My mother has already started with but "you can't have a midwife without a doctor" and "you're going to a hospital right?" and my personal favorite, which she has been saying for years, "Your aunts both had csections so you'll probably need one too"
So I'm super excited and pretty irritated all at once.

My mother is totally on my rump about all the things a homebirth could mean. You know, like dead babies and ambulance trips too late. *sigh*

I hope NOTHING goes wrong with this HB so I can (politely) use it against her the rest of her life. :lol

I don't plan on telling any family we are thinking about UC. I will attend all of the prenatal appts and plan for the hospital too because my husband only agreed to it if everything is ok by their standards. After our twins being in the NICU, we are being cautious. :)

My mom confessed to me that she always wanted a HB, but couldn't find anyone to do a VBAC HB in the 80's. Even so, she still plants little seeds of doubt unknowingly because of the birth of DS. If only my mom was a little less House and a little more Ina May :D
