Please, someone tell me it's worth the money I just spent and the 12 weeks I committed us to...
We just got back from our first session and just... ugh. Please tell me it gets better?!
To be fair, I doubt it is the Method that I'm having issues with... just the instructor.

It does get better!! I didn't exactly click with my instructor but when it came right down to it, those classes got me through labor! And Id take them again!

It really is worth it!! However, I interviewed instructors first, and found one that I totally clicked with. I'm sure that made it better. When it comes down to it though, the information is coming from a cirriculum, so it's all the same. Each instructor is free to add extra info...but the basic stuff is the same.

Don't judge by the first lesson!
The first few lessons were a bit "slow" for us...but by the end we wanted to come back despite the class ending! We had alot of fun and learned so much. I doubt I would have learned the "tips and tricks" from a book (although Henci Goer's book is fabulous). Plus everyone in my class was going to the same hospital/midwife so we could share information very freely.
I now highly recommend it to anyone pregnant!

I would definitely recommend Bradley! I took the classes when I was pregnant with my first and went back for a refresher class just a year later for my second! My instructor was with me for the birth of #2 and I don't think I could have had him without her!
Not only was the labor/birth part of the class great, but it was in my Bradley class that I learned more about breastfeeding for 2+ years, keeping my son intact(which we did), she helped me write my birth plan, I learned about co-sleeping and La Leche League, all before I even discovered Mothering! The book Husband Coached Childbirth has some dated parts IMO, but I would say the class is worth every penny! Hope your class gets better!
Well, before reassuring you that it will get better, I would want to know what you didn't like about the first class.
I loved Bradley and feel that it was vital to making my birth experiences positive, but I also think that a lot can depend on the instructor and whether you click with them.

We totally loved the Bradley classes. So much that we even took a complete repeat class before our second.:shy For us it was like a great date night for dh and I to bond with and get ready for the baby. We clicked fairly well with our instructor, but not perfectly.
I do remember that the first class was kind of boring... all about nutrition, right?

We just got back from class 6, I am SO SO SO glad that we decided to do Bradley instead of Lamaze. They give you so much information! I'm no longer as freaked out as I was about going through labor :) Totally worth the $$$ for me!

We loved our Bradley classes and our instructor. Maybe if you still have the same feeling after the next class you could look for a different instructor (if that's an option for you?). It is SO worth it, especially the knowledge your DH will gain from it all. It helped us to have a 43 hour labor and birth completely natural in the hospital (20 hrs of labor).

Loved our Bradley Class. My x (dh at the time) - really got into the class.
I believe absoutely the class defined our natural birth. Without the class- I don't think I would have been so committed.
Definitely worth time and money.

WE found our classes, to be very, very helpful. We drove 2.5 hrs one way for classes for 10 weeks and it was well worth it.
