Amy-Nicole, Caroline, Jenna, or Vivian? name help needed pretty please!

We are having the toughest time naming our little baby girl due this fall -- Please help!!

[If it helps, our last name is two syllables, starts with a long "A" sound, and ends with an "ly."]

I voted Caroline but my second choice is Vivian.

Without checking the data I think most people named Amy-Nicole and Jenna are in their 20s and 30s now. So imo the names are just old enough to be dated without sounding pleasantly old-fashioned. (My name is very similar to Jenna so I am not knocking the name entirely.)

The only choice I'm not fond of is Amy-Nicole, but mostly because I don't like hyphenated first names. If the name was Amy, middle name Nicole, I'd think it was fine. I like a three of the other choices a lot, but I chose Vivian because I really love that one. It was on my list for dd#2 but dh didn't like it as much as I did.

I love Vivian, Caroline is also nice. Jenna is OK, IMHO, but I'm not overly fond of Amy-Nicole, together or separately, sorry! Good luck!

I love Vivian. DH's grandma is Vivian and I thought very hard about that one. Amy-Nicole sounds too much like Anna Nicole (the one in the news) for me.

I never thought I say this on an MDC name poll (some of these names!!), but I actually like ALL of your names (except Amy-Nicole separated -- not together. I do know an Amy-Liz and I like that.) Usually I just think to myself "None of the above!" (but I would never actually write that! Someone did that to me and I was pretty taken aback, since I simply asked which one people liked BETTER.)

I voted for Jenna. I was just thinking of it myself, and I was also just thinking how pretty and unused Vivian is these days....

I voted for Vivian too. We almost named DD#3 that, but we often call #2 Veve adn decided those were too close. We also really liked Jillian, if you want another name close to that. I don't like hypenated first names so Amy-Nicole woudl be out for me!

I actually read it as Anna-Nicole. Same issues with Jenna. I love Caroline. That was the name of Laura Ingalls Wilder (Little House on the Prarie books author) mother.

I actually read it as Anna Nicole the first few times too, but I think it may be just that that name is in the "news" so much right now - hopefully in several years there would not be that fast connection.

Yeah, that's why I was between Caroline and Vivian. I ended up voting Caroline because "Vivianne" was my french name in high school French class. Bad personal assocaitions of mine that should have no impact whatsoever on how you name your dd!!!

I find Nicole overused, and Amy and Jenna don't seem so classy to me.

It sounds as though Vivian is turning out to be popular, eh? :) (Though Caroline is making good ground in the poll as well, LOL!)
As long as a name is not in the top 3 overall in the U.S., I think DH & I aren't really concerned about how popular a name is or isn't. As far as an uncommon name is concerned, we just don't want a name that would leave poor DD having to spell out both her last and first names to everyone all the time (like her mother has to)!
