Hello! I've never miscarried, just being paranoid I'm sure, but at 4 weeks pregnant does anyone else have an achy feeling and occaisonal painful twinges in the uterus area? Less painful than period cramps, just enough for me to notice and worry...

thanks for any wisdom!!

Also, does anyone know things you can do to help ward off miscarriage...?

Thats exactly how I felt when I found out I was pregnant. I was ache and sore.. a few shaper twinges.. almost like a really dull round ligament pain... I think its totally normal.

Normal for me, like the pp said.

I had this with my first and I still have it w/ this one. It can be disconcerting at times but I think unless it comes in waves and is pretty painful all is well.

And no, there is nothing you can do to ward off a miscarriage aside from taking a prenatal vitamin that contains at folic acid, eating well and avoiding the obvious (alcohol, street drugs, certain prescriptions, cigarettes, etc.) I am sure everything will be fine!

7 weeks today and still have a dull ache...not constant, but definitely happening. Every once in a while, yes, I'll get the occasional pain or twinge. I also believe it's totally normal. I didn't believe it then, but I'm still pregnant... :)

I had those pains especially with my first which made me paranoid. They are normal. It's your uterus and ligaments expanding.

I'm 5 weeks and I've had this CONSTANTLY! I don't remember feeling this way with my last 3 pg (2 of which were m/c's), so I don't think it really means anything. It's just vaguely uncomfortable.

Also, I was always nauseous early on. This time... not a whiff of nausea... yet. I feel very "unpregnant." I seem to be a little more hungry, but not expanding in the waist yet. This is also strange because I remember going up a pant size immediately when I had my daughter. I have a hard time accepting that each pg is different. I feel like they should all be the same.

I'm the same way. Its pretty much the only way I can tell I'm pregnant. I'm very lucky so far to not have any morning sickness. Lots of dull aches & pains though.

Not long after I discovered I was pg my last time, I started having sharp pains like you describe, but all on the right side. I spent all morning at work one day totally convinced that I must have an ectopic pregnancy. I ran in the door after work to research my pains online, only to learn what the others have said here, that it is completely normal & just our ligaments stretching & preparing themselves for the crazy proportions they will soon be growing into! I have them this time too. Since I know now that they are a fine & dandy thing, I like them! :) They remind me that something amazing is going on down there. :love

Wow! I thought it was my imagination.
These feel just like ligament pains, but since I am only 5 weeks I was sure it could not be true

I'm at 5 weeks and have had these same dull, crampy pains all week.

yup, have had tightening/mild crampy pains too pretty consistently through about 5 wks. They've subsided over the last few days (I'm 6 wks today).

yep, I've been having these 'stretchy' kinda feelings.. similar to menstrual pains but not quite as intense.
