View Full Version : New Year's Eve Baby!

I just saw 2 pink lines yesterday, and the entire day I've been making this face: :huh . I kind of thought I might be pregnant, but I was convinced I was faking myself out since it took 18 months and medical intervention to get pregnant with our son, and one night of being too lazy to reach for protection to get pregnant with this baby.
Honestly, the timing is rotten. DH and I are both graduating, neither one of us has a hard job offer yet (although I have some interviews), and everything from our health insurance to our daycare situation to where we're living is up in the air. On the other hand, I have such a strong FEELING about this baby -- major intuition and a feeling of connectedness that I never had with my son -- that I just can't bring myself to feel like it's a bad thing or like things aren't going to work out.
While I'm not entirely sure of my LMP date, it looks like this baby has an EDD of New Year's Eve. I'm sticking to that, although I expect that it will get revised to earlier in December if we do an early u/s. And every due date club needs a volunteer to be the person everyone is going "God, is she ever gonna have that baby?!?" about, so I hereby sign myself up.

You're on! :) This is my second, but I went over last time and come from a family of 42+ week pregnancies, so we'll see. It's good to know there will be someone hanging out waiting with me.

Congrats and welcome!
Though my EDD is December 22, if this baby is anything like the others, he/she will be born New Year's Eve!

Congratulations! I am also due on New Year's Eve! Very fitting, I think, because I wished for this baby when the clock was striking midnight this past New Year's. :o

I'm sure my date will change too - I found out on April 18 using First Response Early Result.
I was only 9 DPO .. wow.. eaerly detection or what...
how are you feeling? any symptoms - i've got none.......... just a yeast infection which i think is from my antibiotics.. yuck.

Oh yay! I'm excited to share a EDD with both of you, and I'm looking forward to sitting around waiting for our babies with you. :)

Tired, and a little sleepy. I'm starting to have some nausea and definately am more sensitive to smells, but I'm also paranoid about having terrible morning sickness again so some of it might be in my head. :)

Congratulations! I am going to be right there with you, due around New Years but probably going longer than that.
I always pictured having babies when it is warm or hot, so this is going to be a new experience, but like one of the PP's said, I am already feeling very attached. I lie down for naps or at night time and try to feel this baby's little spirit.
Glad to be here with y'all, and good look to everyone with their first trimester!

Very excited to be in this with all of you! Congratulations, again! I think I'm still in a state of shock. :lol

Actually, I've been having a lot of symptoms, many of which I would have just chalked up to PMS if I didn't know better:
--Some minor cramping.
--Constipation and gas :o (not pleasant; supposedly caused by increasing levels of progesterone)
--Increased creamy CF (which is seriously scaring me because the moisture makes me feel like AF might be starting, but then when I check, it's just that tricksy CF!)
--Very sensitive, sore nipples.
--Acne on my face! (more than my usual small pre-AF breakout)
--Definitely needing to urinate more frequently.
--Feeling very tired at night.
Christine, I also got an early BFP using FRER on DPO10, and interestingly enough, when I saw that you got your BFP so early (chart linked from TTC#1 in Our 30s thread ... you had a bunch of congrats over there; not sure if you saw them), it prompted me to try my luck that same afternoon! So, thank you! :lol
My best to you and your bellybeans!

I do this all. the. time. Seriously, I keep running to the bathroom to check my undies in the middle of things and DH is starting to think I'm nuts. But between the constipation and the crampy-stretchy feeling, I'm always worried that something has gone wrong.
Aaah, the first trimester paranoia. :)

I know, Belle! I have been so paranoid. The slight cramping combined with the stretching feeling (and gas pains!:o ) worried me. But from the research I dug up, all of that is perfectly normal. The digestive disturbances, in particular, are caused by high levels of progesterone messing with our bowels. I'm trying to take the constipation as a *good* sign ... but it's kind of hard to embrace it that way. :lol

hehe that's too funny :)
I had my first beta HCG done on 15 DPO (Tuesday) - results yesterday are 487 ! wow .. i was shocked. with the last 2 failed pregnancies, the first beta.. in and AROUND 14dpo were very very low .. i.e. 105 or 110.
I am just hoping it's not due to something being wrong (ectopic) - i actually kind of hope for multiples ...heheh..don't think DSO is ready for them though .. I have to see my family dr soon -this was all done with a walk-in clinic.
Thanks for the info about the congrats - i haven't been back to that group yet! trying to organize how many of these sites i'm on still!
Symptoms:
sore nipples (off and on)
odd occasional cramping
that's about it!
