Hi everybody.

I recently posted in the gentle discipline board with only a couple of responses, one of which was to post here. So here I am.

My 6-year-old son is being tested for ADD/ADHD in a couple of weeks. He has had a lot of problems especially in school/daycare the past couple of years. I will not go into great detail for my time on the computer is limited this evening.

I basically wanted to know if anybody out there has had any luck with homeopathic treatments and/or natural supplements vs. drugs. I've been looking all over the internet for different natural stuff and have found quite a few but wanted to know if anyone else has tried any of them?

Thank you so much.

the entirety but my mom had just completed a week long Bach seminar/training years ago and made up a remedy for my ds
I do remember that it contained clematis....
maybe you could find someone that does them or check out their website if they have one??

ye, we use white peopny root and a few other things with my nephew, worked onders for a long time. It has recently become less effective but we think the dosages need to be adjusted.
If you take your kid to the nearest China Town and find a reputable herbalist they can help you figure out what will work best in your child and what the proer doses are, just like drugs hebal and homepathic remedies can do more harm than good if used incorectly.

it might be of interest:

I am waiting for my six year old with autism to turn seven so he can have a trial of Strattera. It is the latest medication to be approved for ADHD problems, and it is nonaddictive.

My son doesn't do well with the stimulant drugs at all. He takes Risperdal for his aggression, but doesn't take anything yet for his ADHD problems. We're hoping the Strattera will help.
