We saw a BioSET practitioner yesterday for eczema/food sensitivities in DS,I got a really good feeling from the doctor. She seamed knowledgeable and is an active member of WAPF. Her initial testing for allergens brought up a lot of what I suspected we were sensitive to. We had our first clearing today for 'protein metabolism'. She is treating both of us since we are still nursing.
It was when discussed payment and I got a really bad feeling. It is expensive, $75 per session (so DS's clearing is 1 session and mine is another) $150 for 45 minutes worth of treatment is more than I expected. She explains to me that we need 34 sessions between the two of us to clear us of our allergens. And to make sure we complete the protocol she asks for payment up front for all of it. :dropjaw I have never ever been asked to do this by any health practitioner. I really really want to believe that BioSET will help us but her asking for $$$$ up front makes me think it is a scam! What have others encountered with BioSET? I feel like it is my right as a patient to walk away from treatment at any point. She wanted me to put it all on my credit card right then and there. I told her I don't use credit cards and she offered me an application to open a 'health credit account'. The whole thing made me sick to my stomach.
I don't know that I even want to go back. I'd like to be honest with her and tell her the only way I feel comfortable getting treatment is to pay as I go.
What have others encountered with the BioSET and NAET practitioners?
Edited to add:
The more I think about this the more I don't want to go back to her. There is another practitioner in my suburb and a second that is about 30 minutes away. I think I might call them and see what there rates are. I have also been perusing some BioSET practitioner sites and they state that the number of clearing sessions is not a fixed number that they can say up front, that as a person is cleared for different things that the body often will start healing itself.
