So, I really hate the foamy feeling of toothpaste. I've tried different things and in the end I end up being happiest when I just brush with baking soda. I only use baking soda once a day (at bedtime) and the rest of the times I just brush with water. This is several times a day, when I wash up before prayers.

Someone somewhere along the way suggested that brushing with baking soda, even if only once a day, might be too hard on my teeth, though I"ve not had any problems.

Is it bad for my teeth? Can you suggest something else?

I really thought I was the only person in the world that does this! It makes them feels so clean. My dentist said it's fine, just stick to a soft toothbrush:wink

I read that it was pretty hard on the enamel so I generally just use peroxide, which would not be for you since you hate the foaminess :)

Ok so as I've been reading this forum I've found several posts where it's mentioned that baking soda wears away the enamel.

So, onto looking for some sort of tooth powder, I guess. I'm kind of willing to try tooth soap and see whether that helps... My Dr. Bronner's bottle says it can be used for teeth but I'm a little.. scared to try it. Though that would make a good joke about having my mouth washed out with soap daily.
