Well, last night about 11 PM I had my 3rd bleed. (Don't read on if you get queasy easy!) I went for a BM and after that was done, I heard dripping, like when you pee., only I was NOT peeing,it was blood. I hollered for dh who was fast asleep. He finally came and I couldn't decide whether to stay home & see if it quit or call 911. I know after the last two hospitalizations
(April 22-29 & May 6-10) that the next time my OB will make me stay in the hospital until I deliver (due July 18). I didn't want to suffer thru all the needles,IV,and days of sleep deprivation, and I have nowhere to take my 4 year old. If DH misses work,he will likely become unemployed.
After about 10 minutes of panic and bleeding, I passed a good sized blod clot, and the bleeding slowed down. I got in bed and drank a lot of ice water, and tried to relax. I finaly slept. I woke about an hour ago, and the bleeding seems to have stopped. All this time, the baby has been kicking and moving as usual, responding to my touch & tapping on my belly, sems just fine! Last sonogram last Monday in the hospital, the dr said the placenta had moved up to a centimeter from the cervix, so not technically considered a previa now. If so, I wonder why the bleeding, and where the heck that blood clot(s) came from? Last episode of bleeding was nearly identical, and also quit after passing a good sized clot. Anyone have any clue what the clots could be? The nurse I showed the last one to & the drs didn't really give me any explanation ,at all.

I have no idea what the clots could be. I just wanted to offer :hug .

My friend had complete placenta previa with several episodes of bleeding. One of the time was followed by a large clot (about the size of a baseball). We scooped it up into a container and I took her to the hospital. The doctor said that the clot was cause by bleeding that started while she was sleeping and pooled because she was laying down. Apparently it clotted like that and when she got up to use the bathroom, the pressure forced it out. The bleeding stopped and all was well, but she was put on home bed rest from that point on. She did have a large bleed that didn't stop at 32 weeks and delivered 8 weeks early. The baby had a 4 weeks stay in the hospital and both mom and baby are just fine now.

I hope that all is well with you and your little one. I would just take it easy at home and watch for any more spotting. If you do have anymore I would go to the hospital. I wish you the best!

I am glad your friend & her baby made it OK. So far just a bit of spotting here & there,I was just afraid to be stuck in the hospital again, and I know this time they wouldn't let me go home until I delivered. I never thought any of this would happen ,all the stuff you read says that the previa will usually clear up on it's own...guess I'm that unlucky 2% or whatever it is!!! :dizzy:
