I'm stationed at Yongsan for the next 12 months - then it's retirement!! Yay! I'm due in December, which we though was a pretty cool retirement present.

Congratulations!

I came to this forum to see if anyone was in Korea. My husband just left for there a couple of days ago and I just got news that there's a good chance we will be able to join him after I have my baby! He's at Camp Henry right now though. How far is that from where you are?

My husband is at Camp Casey. I will be joining him in August. He found us an apartment in New City Dondachong(sp?) area. I hope to spend quite a bit of time in Seoul.

I also came to this area looking for mamas in Korea.

Can you tell me if I could buy cloth diapers (perferably flats) there or do I need to send them over. We won't have a dryer so I will be hanging to dry.

did you have to get a visa? are you going to vax? my dh is going there in 2 months and hopefully ds and I will follow. :) autumn

Yes you have to get a visa. We will get mine after I arrive in Korea. I am traveling on passports for me and the kids. You can obtain visas before going over as well but you have 30 days after arriving to get them and that is what we are doing.

My dd1 was delayed vaxed and now at 4 1/2 is up to date. Dd2 has been vaxed on schedue because we knew we were going to Korea. Vaccination is a very personal and hard decision to make and my husband and I had to come to an agreement. You will have to make that decision based on what you have decided is best for your family.

We are very much looking forward to joining him. If you have any questions after my arrival I would love to help.

I think it was a smart decision for us to follow dh at a latter date as we have. It has allowed him to find an apartment and learn about how things are before we come.
