Wow, we get our own DDC!

I'm Helen, 30, a Brit, and I have three gorgeous children, all in my siggie. They were all born at home, are all totally insane in their own gorgeous ways and drive me nuts on a regular basis.
I'm pregnant again after three consecutive losses (this is actually my 11th pregnancy), so I'm feeling more than slightly nervous this time. I felt pretty hurt when we told my mum and she was so ambivalent, especially as we hadn't told her about two of the three. That hurt.
Other than that, I'm just taking things one day at a time. Today is 18dpo :throb

Hi! I am Kate...I have 2 children, DD 11/03/01 and DS 02/10/04. Both were hospital births, DS's birth was incredibly traumatic...I am hoping for a homebirth this time around. The supposed due date for #3's 02/06/08.

Good morning, February mamas!!!!!! (And good some-other-time-of-day in England and Germany :)! )

I'm Teresa. I'm a teacher. I've got a year-and-a-half-old little boy who I took to school with me, and we're both utterly enjoying our summer break. I was neither TTC or TTA this new pregnancy, just kind of charting and noticing what what going on :wink. I'm "officially" due Jan. 28, but think I'll probably end up birthing in this month.

Glad to "meet" y'all!

Hi!

I am Amanda, I'm 26 and ds is Andrew. We live in Wisconsin. We were TTC when surprise, surprise--it only took ONE cycle!

Andrew was born 11/25/05 (the day after Thanksgiving) at 2 AM. I labored all day on Wednesday and Thursday and ended up transporting to the hospital late Thanksgiving night for full interventions. Epi, Pit, internal fetal monitoring, IV abx, the whole 9 yards. This time we are hoping to make it at home!

Ds is still nursing like a champ, he's my little "nursie baby" so unless his personality changes a lot this year I may end up tandem nursing. He loves his "nur-nur"s and I don't see him giving them up without a fight!

We tried Shettles for a girl along with Cranberry and Cal/Mag supplements but we will be happy as a clam with a boy, too. We are probably not having any ultrasounds so I doubt that we will know the sex before birth.

I'm due 2/2 but my family has a history of birthing around 38 weeks or earlier so I've got one foot in February and one foot in January! If I do go to my EDD or beyond it will be the first time in my family that has happened!

Hi!

Don't like to give out real names online (it's not you...it's me being weird) but you can call me Lorax. :) I have one DD, whose nickname is Froglet. We waited a long time to TTC for various reasons, and got lucky on the first try--eep!

Right now I am percolating on issues of care provider--which birth center, or do I try a homebirth? DD was supposed to be a birth center birth, but ended up as a fairly traumatic hospital transfer due to posterior position and GBS. My labor was 34 hours long. :dizzy: Hoping for a *slightly* shorter one this time!!

Hi everyone!

Well, the result from the digi test this morning was unmistakable! So I am here officially with an EDD of 2/9/08!

I have two DDs, ages 4 & 7. Both were natural births in hospitals. I am having a homebirth with this one!

We won't be finding out the gender, and I will probably forego the routine ultrasounds as well. As long as everything is going smoothly, I plan on having a hands-off pregnancy. I've had two first trimester miscarriages, so if we make it to 13 weeks, I'll be soooo relieved!

Glad to be here!

My name is Nina and I am going to be 34 when this baby is born. I live in Spokane WA..there are now two of us here, HI ANGELA!! (Mamazon)
We are starting to warn people not to drink the water at knit club becuase there are now 4 of us pregnant!

This is my fourth pregnancy and will be my fourth birth. I lost my oldest and my youngest in an accident in Sept and so I will only have two with me.
This is going to be my last baby.

My DD was born at 32 weeks. I spent 4 weeks in the hospital lying on my head to keep her in as long as possible. DEFINATELY worth it... the difference between 28 weeks and 32 weeks is huge.

Then with my second pregnancy I had a cervical stitch placed at 13 weeks. It was successful and I was induced at 42 weeks. Same thing happened with my third. I was scared into my last induction by the perinatologist (not my regular ob) at the NST clinic.
However it was still my best birth!

Conor is 3. He will be 4 when this baby is born. He is my JOY! I am excited for him to be big brother again. He was amazing with his baby brother. I think he already understands that something is going on. He has been wanting me to be right there with him and been more obviously affectionate towards me.
Last week when I found out I asked him if he wanted a brother or a sister. He said sister. I thought he was just mimicking the last thing I said, but later in that day he went and found a picture of his sister and gave it to me and said sister. :o
He also has a genetic disorder that is still undx'ed and PDD-NOS (on the autism spectrum) He is 100 % tube fed and developmentally delayed.

I *think* I am due 2/2 but will defer to the first US if it is drastically different. I have an incompetent cervix and have a US every month to check for funneling. After DD's birth I need to know that everything is okay. I kind of let the OB do their thing when it comes to managing the incompetent cervix ( I HATE that word) But with each birth take more and more charge of the other birth stuff that doesn't effect that issue.

After my last birth I would LOVE if I could find a MW to give birth at home after I my stitch is removed at 36 weeks. But DH is very scared still when it comes to birth and so to the hospital I go!

So much to say so little space! Looking forward to getting to know everyone over the next 9 months!!!

Hi gals! I am Angela I also reside in Spokane and know Nina in real life!! She is an awesome knitter! :wink This is my 4th pregnancy and will be Dh's 2nd baby. I had a child when I was younger and gave him up for adoption, but it is open and we still keep in touch. I have a DD Madison who is full of energy and Aidan is as well.. He loves his big sister and Madison loves him.. a little to much sometimes. they both keep me on my toes. Dh works over in Seattle 4 days a week and is home usually 3 days. So I am basically on my own when he is gone. We moved over here to be closer to my family and they are a tremendous help when I need it. They still don't know and will be told around Father's day weekend. My DD is Jan 30th but I am sure I will go over due. I was induced both times with Madison and Aidan since my 1st was big 9lbs 7oz.. ( that was 10 years ago and I carried him to 42wks.) Madison was born 3 days before her DD and all they had to do was break my water and she was here 3 1/2 hrs later, Aidan well he was 10 days early and was 8lbs and by far the easiest birth. I'm going to try and due the natural route this time. my epi last time was horrible and I still have issues with my back because of it. my first appt is June 8th and that is for paperwork etc and interviewing MW. Yesterday was my 5wk mark and the MS is starting to kick in and I am exhausted. :o

Hi - my name is Suzy and I'm pregnant with our first! Due date is 2/2. We are planning on a homebirth, but living atop a steep hill in Vermont may make that difficult come snow season. :lol

So, so happy to be here!!!

Hi everyone! I'm Sarah (27)and so excited to be here! I have an 18, almost 19 month old DD and we've been trying since just before her first birthday. Her birth was fairly short and uncomplicated. She was born in a hospital with no interventions, but I still wasn't happy with it. DH is now reluctantly agreeing to a homebirth and I'm thrilled. I know he'll come around and love it. My EDD is 2/3 by ovulation.

ETA: I am still nursing DD as well. She nurses between 5-10 times a day but I have already started discourageing a little bit, especially at night because my nipples are so painful. I certainly don't plan on weaning and she is very attached to nursing but it's time to sleep through the night for a couple months before starting over again!

Just a bit of a related story...My daughter self weaned when I was only 3 months pregnant with DS. So if she is totally not wanting to quit yet it might just be a couple more months anyway.

Anybody else feel relief nursing newly pregnant? I remember thinking nursing DD made me feel better, but I might a rarity:toothy

Also I just talked my husband into a homebirth after a traumatic birth with DS, but now I have to figure out a way to cover it, our insurance won't cover any of it. I am actually contemplating applying for medicaid because they cover homebirth with nurse midwives.

Congrats to all the Feb. 2008 Mama's!! Count me in too. We will be having #4. It looks like the EDC will be about 2/1 or 2/2, but I am always 10 days to 2 weeks late so who knows!

We are very shocked, but so excited!

I should be a Feb. 08 momma, too. My EDD is 2/3. My first was 9 days late and I ended up with the full intervention, including a c-section. With this one, I'm telling people the baby should be here by mid-February. I refuse to deal with the in-laws calling every single day past my due date to inquire about the state of my cervix!

Oh yeah, about us. I'm Christina, 27 year old stay at home mom to Cole (7/25/05) and two dogs and one cat. My husband is Brandon, also 27.

Hey mamas! I am pregnant with #1! Dh and I conceived on our first cycle! :dizzy: It's so crazy. I have no idea where to start or what to do. I'd be totally lost without my wonderful sister who is showing me the way! I think I'm due around Feb. 8th. Hooray!!!
