Hand cranked or solar powered battery...

Is there such a thing as a hand cranked or solar powered battery cell that you could power up and then plug your stereo or small appliance into?

My in-laws have a radio that is solar and crank. I'm not sure where they bought it, but it works great. The crank lasts for about twenty minutes, and as long as it is in the sun the radio works. If you are intrested in knowing more, I can find out what brand and where they got it.
