Am I odd or did everyone's breasts change color??

I didn't even remember that this happened with ds until yesterday when I noticed it happened again!

My areola doesn't get any darker or larger (thank God). my nipples are about as big around as my index finger now...which is kinda funny looking....

But my breasts are brown! they did the same thing with ds. It's like lots of little brown spots. So, I guess this is another sign (in my mind) that this pg is sticky!

But did anyone else experience this or am I just weird??

I believe it's a benefit that our areolas darken in pregnancy - newborn babies see contrasting colors, thereby it would make sense to have the areola darker than your breast skin, right?

Perfectly normal - it was my husband that pointed it out - we laughed a bit! I have really pale skin, so my pigmentation changes weren't as severe as some women with darker skin I've seen.

thats the funny thing...my areolas are the same color...its my breasts that are a different color! cracks me up!

but not because of this.

My breasts didn't change color but my nipples got bigger and darker as did my areolas. I really didn't have a noticeable nipple until I was pregnant. It was almost the same exact color as the rest of my breast. And the nipples were so tiny! Now they are pinky sized before they were half that size.
Before I was pregnant I also had DD sized breasts so I'm sure I was an odd sight (although dh never complained).

I'm kinda nervous what my bbs are gonna do this time. I was a D pre-pg with ds and an E after. Now I'm busting out of my E but afriad to see what size I need!!

I actually remember it happening more severly with number two then number one. We're expecting number 3 in October and I'll have fresh batterys loaded and ready to pump!

Yup my breasts have changed colors too. My areolas more than the breast itself has gotten darker by these little 'spots' almost like freckles filling in (so now my areolas don't look spotty but they did) and I do have those freckly spots on my breasts, a lot lighter and only oh 2 inches out from the nipples... that combined with the neon blue veins I can see in my breasts and nipples now looks very interesting... Dh isn't complaining though, so far I've gone from a C to a DD cup and I still have 3 months to go! :eek If I had a vote they could stop growing now! :LOL

I am so glad that this thread got started.... I have a question.... I have red hair and my areola's have gotten bigger, and darker.... my sisters and my mom's areola's got brownish when they were pregnant/nursing -- but mine are PURPLE! Is this a "normal" variation for a redhead -- they went from pink to PURPLE and to me they look really strange....

Any other red heads out there have this experience? Do they stay this way after preganancy and breast feeding? If they do, this will take some getting used to!!!! My nipples are also larger and always "erect", but the part that freaks me is the PURPLE color....

I had a thought that perhaps that was why this happened. And I've also noticed that with darker skin its the opposite yet still a contrast.

with both pg my areola got darker (I have fair skin and it is noticable - you can see the dividing line thru my white bras!)

dh and I joke that the baby will have a great target - my areolas are about the size of saucers that you set tea cups on! :eek
